Big C Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 There isn't a snowman's chance on a pile of leaves at Raider's house, that I'm going Black Friday shopping. They would literally have to be selling Shimano Scorpions 80% off and giving out Carrot Stix as door prizes, to get me camping out in their parking lot. Instead of the maddness, I'm going to be playing hillbilly golf and eating turkey sammiches. What do you guys have going on? Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 Okay, what's hillbilly golf? Enquiring minds want to know. I'm in total agreement about the Black Friday thing. I'm surprised they still use that term. 3 Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 WHAT? Not a mention of suet pudding in any of the feast menus. "A suet pudding is a boiled, steamed or microwaved pudding made with suet (beef or mutton fat), flour, bread crumbs, raisins, and spices." A generous dollop of real whipped cream to top it off. Quote
Big C Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 Okay, what's hillbilly golf? Enquiring minds want to know. Hillbilly golf is the redneck king of yard games. It's a lot like horseshoes, but instead of throwing horseshoes at a spike in the ground, you are throwing golf ball bolas (2 golf balls with holes drilled in them with about a foot of rope connecting them) at a "ladder" contructed out of PVC pipe. It's kinda hard to explain, but it;s a ton of fun. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 Will be fishing on Black Friday. 1 Quote

Super User Sam Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 Stay home and finish a proposal for a client. Watching football. May drive to my office using the back roads to avoid the shopping center areas. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 25, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 25, 2015 While the wife is out dealing with the madness, my son and I are going to visit my parents since we won't see them on Thanksgiving. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 Fishing would be the preferred method of entertainment! Quote

Super User BassinLou Posted November 26, 2015 Super User Posted November 26, 2015 Fishing with my wife and kids for a little while. I avoid going to any store on Black Fri like the plague. That's what the internet is for. Stores lure you in with unbelievable deals, but.... they only have 5 of those items in the store's showroom. No thanks.. not worth getting trampled over by idiots... 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted November 27, 2015 Super User Posted November 27, 2015 Putting my tackle in order, and sharpening some hooks. I'm letting my wife take on the crowds. She loves it. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted November 29, 2015 Super User Posted November 29, 2015 I missed my annual Black Friday trip. Usually I take my oldest to Walmart to watch the blood shed and carnage. I could honestly care less about participating. I just like watching the fights. Once they started leaving the stores open instead of making everyone stand outside. That's when the fun started to die in the event for me. My buddy and I used to get at the back of the line and push forward as soon as the doors opened. You know, the whole, "trample the weak, hurdle the dead", kind of thing. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted November 30, 2015 Super User Posted November 30, 2015 It was 64 degrees on Friday with light wind. Would have been nuts to be doing anything other than fishing....and certifiable to have gone shopping. Quote
