Heron Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 For those of you who have pre-ordered one of these. When you receive it/use it, let us know your thoughts about it. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted November 26, 2015 Super User Posted November 26, 2015 Yeah... I have been eyeing the release of this bait for a while and the release date keeps getting pushed back. It would have been awesome to have had it released during this Thanksgiving, but I am sure they wouldn't have allowed markdowns since its LT's newest bait. Lol.. Quote
AQUA VELVA Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I got my LTHS through TW and couldn't wait to try it out on my home lake.It looked and felt very well made with very sharp Trokar hooks. Unfortunately the bass in my lake will have nothing to do with it. You can impart great action to this lure so I don't know what the deal is . On the other hand, my Whopper Plopper 90 also from TW turned out to be a fish magnet. Quote
d-camarena Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Garbage.it probably the only lure i regret paying full retail for Quote

primetime Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I will let the fact the Dick's has had them Bogo at $10 each since they came out as to how well they work.....When lures that get released with hype, then go straight to clearance racks, there is a problem. They made too many and they look like you are fishing a dead stiff Bluegill (Bent like a dead gill) or some type of fake plastic toy? I had to buy 1 because of the concept and because I am a sucker, but I would buy the LT frog/Mouse instead. Those are good baits. I have liked just about every hollow body frog and bait, and I have have tried most avail as I love buying this category of baits. I would put the LT Sunfish in the Mann's Giant Frog/Pancake category, Boze ZZ Walker, and I would rather by 5 Jawbone Frogs for $10 than a LT Bluegill any day of the week. Just my honest take. I am sure they catch Fish if in heavy cover, but so will any bait a fish can't see, but in open water, it does Attract Turtles better than any lure I have used, so it could be a good tool for finding Wood, then tie on a different bait the turtles won't chase....Gators won't hit it, that is a problem. A few Bass have smashed it as it landed but they would have smashed anything that landed. Quote
jr231 Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 There is another thread about this.. long story short I had a take in open water. I cast it over a sunken tree and let it sit. Then worked it back my way and I've never had a bass take a top water so gentle. It came up. I seen the whole roof of her mouth.and just slurped it down. I reeled down and went to set the hook and my drag went zzzzzzzzzzzzzttt. I had it loose from when I hooked the holder and released the tension for storage..operator error. It's super easy to walk. Probably the easiest I've ever used. And it has trokar hooks. But in all honesty. I wouldn't buy another one even if it was 5 bucks. But if i was stranded and only had this lure. I'm confident I couldn't catch a bass with it. Quote
MBB Nate Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I have one that a "friend" gave me. I've had it for a month and it's so bad it has cursed my topwater game. I literally haven't caught a topwater fish at all since I got it. Every time I open my topwater box I swear I can hear it laughing at me. Eventually I will, hope, catch a fish on it and retire it to Xmas tree ornament duty so it can spend 11 months out of the year in the bottom of a box burried deep in the bowels of the basement. 1 Quote
timsford Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I fish a lot of ponds and do really well with bluegill swimbaits, hard topwater walkers, and frogs. I figured this would be a good lure to try since it's all these rolled into one. I went to a clear pond i fish quite a bit and could see several bass cruising. Every one of them swam away quickly when the sunfish bait got close and hid under brush or weeds. I tried it in murkier water a few times and still nothing so mine is going into the box i put lures in until i get several i don't want to keep and sell. Keep posted I'll probably have a gently used one without a single scuff from a basses teeth coming up in the flea market soon. It sounded great, but basically looks like I caught a bluegill and killed it and then hooked it's stiff floating body and cast him out Quote
