My "vacation"

So after getting laid off from my last job last week I am taking a break. We have calls at the hall so it isn't a lack of work. I'm just burned out on electric work currently. Its been putting me in a horrible mood as well. So I intend to relax until after thanksgiving. After which I will be going back on 7 12s for the next 4 months. Yayou me.

Anyway, while sitting out front watching our dogs play. We are currently residing on 9 acres of hardwoods with a 2 acre double fenced front yard. I can't help but laugh at these two dogs. The mastiff runs the beagle over and flips him all over the place. To which the beagle grabs him by the tail or back of the leg where the mastiff can't get him. All the while rolling through three massive piles of leaves. It is completely cracking me up. The only thing funnier to me is watching the two sleep. The beagle curls up on top of the mastiff. It is hilarious. Probably the only thing I enjoy more is watching our four boys run around out here. It calms me and relaxes me and makes me smile.

I am absolutely in love with being out of the city. Our children can actually play without having to worry about the wanna be gangsters, and what have you bopping around. I can shoot my guns off the back porch if I so feel inclined too. I can hunt all night and day. Our neighbor a mile down has also given me permission to fish his 4 acre pond. Life is sweet right now. I'm getting my chi realigned and finding my zen again.

Sweet setup dude. Enjoy it while you can. A little time away to recharge can be a great thing. Been burnt out on my gig for a while now, and I'm getting ready to take what may very well be a permanent hiatus from academe. My part time gig will be two days a week starting January. I'll do that for a while, and then see what happens.

Sounds like a nice spread, I would love to live in the country. My dad doesn't like the upkeep on a property, though. Country boy at heart.....

Well 3 gallons of gasoline, plus 8 gallons of diesel fuel, plus a 6 ft pile of soggy leaves equals a 20 foot tall mushroom cloud. When it is first ignited. Lessons learned on my winter vacation. :D

Update: it's been burning for 2 hours now.....
