As far as quick, easy, and very strong, the alberto no doubt. However, the FG knot looks intriguing. But, I do not consider that knot to be a quick knot.

I've not had the uni-to-uni fail me, either, but

I normally tie a modded Albright/berto/etc. knot.

With my new LTW rod, I'm having to get used

to the micro spinning guides. So the Alb... knots

flow smoother through the guides than uni.

The FG is cool, but something I've tried numerous

times to do. I've determined that for me, it just

isn't worth the time or effort when the others work

just fine. I know it'd probably be a tad better for

the micro guides, but....

The blood knot is best for lines of the same or similar diameter. That's usually not the case with a braid-to-leader knot.

Tight lines,

Bob

Thank you. I do generally run 30lb braid with an 8lb fluoro leader, 50lb braid with 12lb mono or 17lb fluoro leader, and 65lb braid with a 14lb mono leader (if I run a leader on 65lb; generally I don't as I need the strength of braid when I go 65lb).

I guess I'll play with the blood knot on the similar diameters if I can tie it fast.

Josh

I use the Uni to Uni Knot to connect my braid main line to my Mono leaders.

Has been a Reliable, Secure knot that's Simple & Easy to tie. - Even at night.

This encourages me to re-tie often which plays a major in my choice and has proved very beneficial ~ Especially lately.

I use the Uni or Uni to Uni Knot for most of my freshwater and saltwater fishing. Its very simple, strong, and can be tied in mere seconds in low light conditions.

on all my rods i use micro guides so ive been interested in trying a knot connection for a braid to flourocarbon that will pass . i tried the FG knot on my casting rod that has size 4 micros and the knot is holding up great and is not the hard to tie , actually after you practice a bit , i find it easier to cinch down than the albright ! the FG is really slim and passes through micros really well and is strong , so far it seems to be a winner !!! :eyebrows:

Alberto knot for me. I tried the FG knot and was initially impressed but what I found is that once it's all tied -- a very slim and compact knot it must be said -- I've found that with the line under tension you can push the coils of braid in the direction of the rod and pull the leader right out. I tried all kinds of ways to pack that knot tight before hitching it off and after hitching it off and always with the same results. I can always make it let go.

The OP simply ask what the best and easiest knot to connect braid to a leader.

My original answer was Binimi twist, the hardest knot to connect a leader to braid and the strongest. If you can tie a Bimini twist knot you can tie any knot.

Now everyone is thinking braid to FC leader, I can't see any reason to use FC as a leader because FC has lower knot strength than Nylon line, use a premium Nylon like Sunline Armilo Defier as a leader with 100% knot strength using simple connecting knots like the uni knot.

i spoke too soon , after using the FG knot today i had tied the other day , i went to tie it again and couldn't get the cinch down after 20 + times , gave up and tied an Albright , made a few casts and it's seems to pass through the size 4 AmTack micros , but i was using a 1/2 oz. test plug , we'll see how it goes with a weightless wacky rigged BizzBait stick bait ...
