ThatFishin'Guy Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Hey guys, so I want to get a dedicated cranking setup and have 2 rods in mind. I use shallow to mid depth (~12ft) cranks ranging from 1/4 - 3/4oz. The two rods I am looking at is the Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Winch in 7ft Med/Mod or the *** *** Black 2 Crankbait rod in 7ft Mod. Now I have the first gen *** and love it but I haven't heard too much about this rod in particular and I've heard nothing but good things about the Abu rod. So I'd like your guys opinion on which you think would best suit the task. Thanks! Quote
thebillsman Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I am also very curious about the **** ***** 2 (7'). I was told in an email today from their customer service that it is a 24ton/T-Glass blend. I have no idea what to expect from it but I do like the idea of full cork grips. It's on my list with the Fury 705cb and Magnesium TS. I hope someone who has experience with the rod mentioned above can chime in because I can't find anything in regards to it's performance. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted November 19, 2015 Super User Posted November 19, 2015 That rod company is banned for spamming the forum and pushy pro staff trying to boost sales. Quote

Super User WRB Posted November 21, 2015 Super User Posted November 21, 2015 If I was buying a new Crankbait rod today the Chasion 7'3" MH would be my choice for the lures you plan to use. Tom Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted November 22, 2015 Super User Posted November 22, 2015 I would get DVT Mike to build you a custom on a MHX crankbait mod/fast blank. The one I got from him is incredible, I was really surprised just how good it is! Quote

Tom I assume you mean the Cashion 7' 3" MH-MF. It is a company that seldom gets mentioned. How about a review of the rod after you get to spend a little more time with it? Quote

I keep going back and forth on the Kistler KLX or a Dobyns 705cb. Quote
