Good luck and best wishes Dwight.

I am sorry to hear about your illness, Dwight.  I have always appreciated the feedback you've given in the threads, and your insight to fishing a jerkbait is amazing!

I hope you have a full recovery, and can get back out on the water soon!

A smart guy once told me getting old beats the alternative, but it ain't for sissies. Methinks our brother Dwight is no sissy, so I says he whoops this thing the way he whoops those big bronzebacks.

Good luck, Dwight. We'll be right here waiting for you.

Just an update both CT & PET scans came back negative for metastasized cells. My tumor is localized to the lower esphagus. Stage 2. Getting a port put in next Tuesday then 2 months of chemo before surgery then a probable two more months of chemo after surgery. The surgeon is doing a transhiatal esophagectomy procedure. I'll end up with my stomach replacing my esophagus.

Thanks for everyone's prayers & positive comments. Your support is much appreciated.

Good to hear positive news.  Good luck with the chemo.  My parents went through it.  It slowed them down a little, but they've been clean 5 years.  Prayers continue.

Whelp, I suppose that means you'll be back on the water by summer.  :)

I'm glad to hear the prognosis.  It could've been much worse.  You can do this.

All done with pre surgery chemo. The tumor responded well to the chemo according to the most recent tests. Met with the surgeon last week & he has scheduled my surgery for March 7th. Will be in the hospital for 7-8 days then home to recuperate.
