Super User .ghoti. Posted November 24, 2015 Super User Posted November 24, 2015 A smart guy once told me getting old beats the alternative, but it ain't for sissies. Methinks our brother Dwight is no sissy, so I says he whoops this thing the way he whoops those big bronzebacks. Good luck, Dwight. We'll be right here waiting for you. Quote

Super User Dwight Hottle Posted December 9, 2015 Super User Posted December 9, 2015 Just an update both CT & PET scans came back negative for metastasized cells. My tumor is localized to the lower esphagus. Stage 2. Getting a port put in next Tuesday then 2 months of chemo before surgery then a probable two more months of chemo after surgery. The surgeon is doing a transhiatal esophagectomy procedure. I'll end up with my stomach replacing my esophagus. Thanks for everyone's prayers & positive comments. Your support is much appreciated. 8 Quote

Good to hear positive news. Good luck with the chemo. My parents went through it. It slowed them down a little, but they've been clean 5 years. Prayers continue. 1 Quote

Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 1, 2016 Super User Posted March 1, 2016 All done with pre surgery chemo. The tumor responded well to the chemo according to the most recent tests. Met with the surgeon last week & he has scheduled my surgery for March 7th. Will be in the hospital for 7-8 days then home to recuperate. 18 Quote
