Do prefer Turkey or Ham for Thanksgiving?

Yes!  :)

Did you see the news story about the bakery that's come up with a special Thanksgiving cake?  It's three layers.  The bottom layer is spice cake, with a whole apple pie baked inside.  The middle layer is chocolate, with a whole pecan pie baked inside.  I forgot what the top layer of cake is, but it has a pumpkin pie baked inside.

That's one big cake, with three pies inside!  The whole thing weighs 23 pounds and costs $250!  I'd love to have one of those on my table for the holiday.

Tight lines,

Bob

Girlfriend is vegetarian so I eat enchiladas on Thanksgiving. Not a bad change after twenty some years of dry turkey.

I voted ham but I could honestly go the rest of my life and never eat ham or turkey again and be just fine.  Give me beef and chicken over ham and turkey.

After 20 plus years, no one in your house has figured out how to cook a turkey?

Gotta go with a brine......usually brine mine for about a day or at least overnight then put it on the smoker.....best tasting and juiciest bird out there

Both are served at my house. I would rather have enchiladas than dry turkey or fatty, gristley ham though. In fact I would rather have tofu. This is not a spot to go cheap or take shortcuts.

I get tired of a traditional Thanksgiving....way too many dishes to clean up after, too much fanciness, etc. I always tell them I'd be happy with pizza and wings, but to no avail. My mom and sister like baking it.

So to answer you: neither lol.

Nope. It's awful. Christmas is good though. Kielbasa and pierogi for days.

Turkey with a cranberry, sausage stuffing. Then it's salad, ravioli, sausage, meatballs.

Christmas it's prime rib, salad, homemade noodles with meatballs, sausage.

Easter it's spiral honey ham, salad, lasagna with meatballs, sausage.

If I get my choice it would be my mom's ham with apricot glaze. I prefer the turkey salad sandwiches from the leftover turkey over the actual turkey on Thanksgiving.

This year I'm going to smoke a Butt.  Will probably have a turkey too but I want something different.  Do like oyster dressing though.

Eating turkey is one of my favorite things about this time of year. Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, and turkey sandwiches for a week after that!

Doing ribs this year, I love both turkey and ham but its another meal where I will cook what my guest or I want. Never been a person tied to tradition.

Turkey for Thanksgiving, ham for Christmas.  We have Christmas dinner at our house, and for a few years we cooked a turkey and a ham, but the number of relatives has dwindled, and most liked the ham better.  The only thing I really miss is the dressing, and we haven't found a good recipe for ham soup.

The best ham is the Triple M Budaball ham.
