Long story short my 1989 Cajun bass boat had to be sold. The acronym boat was holding true for bust out another thousand. It was turning into one problem after another and I had to sell it. The good news is spring 2016 I will be getting another boat. The bad news is I will not have a boat until then and I will be forced to bank fish which I have not done in about two years. Has anyone else had this issue before?

Every December I put my boat away and go ice fishing, so I kinda feel your pain.

I guess that is kind of the same except you won't have to bust out your wallet LOL

You underestimate how much I have spent on ice fishing! Snowmobile, gas auger, trailer, proper clothing...

Ice fishing is expensive! And not nearly as fun as summer fishing. Not to mention I have to pay a good chunk of change just to store my boat all winter.

2 years ago I sold my boat to help pay down some bills and help get our finances in check. Last year I fished the whole year out of my brother in laws 15' johnboat with a 15hp motor. It was a little rough but I managed. The payoff was finding my current boat last winter for about half what it was worth. It's almost winter time anyways so at least you won't be out for the good time of year yet.

Good point about buying in winter. This is a great time to buy up here in New England.

Thanks blue. Like you said it isn't the "prime" season now so I will be saving money up and enjoying the bank fishing for a bit. :-)

Had a similar but different problem last year.  My brother's old pickup tranny went out and he scrapped it.  My mid-size pickup wasn't ideal for me and he needed transportation so I sold it to him.  In SEPTEMBER.   SEPTEMBER!!!!  What was I thinking?!!!  Now I didn't have a vehicle to pull my boat!  What a dummy I was!  Oh well.  I survived.  Hang in there bro'.  You'll get through it, too.
