Sandhillcrab Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Alright. I love fishing lakes. But rivers are lots of fun. What do you guys like better? Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted November 16, 2015 Super User Posted November 16, 2015 I love to fish them both,But always favor a river. 1 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Both. Literally 99% of my fishing is done on a river and I love fishing it. But I also love fishing a lake the other 1% of the time because it's something totally different than what I'm used to fishing. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted November 16, 2015 Super User Posted November 16, 2015 Lakes. I hate river fishing. Quote

Super User Scott F Posted November 16, 2015 Super User Posted November 16, 2015 Lakes in the spring, rivers summer through fall. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted November 16, 2015 Super User Posted November 16, 2015 Both. They both have their challenges. I have found river fish seem to be a bit tougher once hooked compaired to their lake counterparts. 3 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted November 17, 2015 Super User Posted November 17, 2015 I like them both .One of my favorite ways to fish is to anchor above dikes on the Mississippi River and use nightcrawlers on the bottom . I catch so many different types of fish like that , its just a blast not knowing whatwill bite next . 2 Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted November 17, 2015 Super User Posted November 17, 2015 I am more comfortable on a lake, because that is where I have far more experience. I like river fishing, but it is far more challenging to me. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 17, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 17, 2015 Barely any rivers or creeks around here with bass. I love going to the Ozarks and fishing for smallies in those rivers though. I'll take what I can get really. Quote
Josh Smith Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I am used to lakes, but I started learning rivers again during this year's turnover. Lots to study yet. Josh 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted November 18, 2015 Super User Posted November 18, 2015 I usually prefer to fish lakes. Rivers are ok just as long as the current is not too fast. 1 Quote

Super User Raul Posted November 18, 2015 Super User Posted November 18, 2015 I´m not going to say there aren´t rivers where I´m at, there are but they are dry 70% of the year, so all my fishing is done in lakes and ponds. 1 Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 18, 2015 Super User Posted November 18, 2015 1. Tidal Rivers 2. Ponds 3. Lakes 1 Quote
Super User Angry John Posted November 19, 2015 Super User Posted November 19, 2015 call pick a river every time but there's no bass in Washington rivers. I fish lakes here because that's where the bass are. Connecticut the rivers had everything including striper and were way better Quote

Super User Angry John Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 You sound very, uh, "angry" about that... It is a little sad how low of density bass we have on the kitsap penensula. I just came from CT where you can find bass everywhere. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 25, 2015 Super User Posted November 25, 2015 Angry......You are located near Bremerton (naval shipyards) Puget Sound where salmon and Steelhead rule. You need to go south to the Columbia River for world class bass river fishing or closer is lake Washington, Glenn can help you out to located bass fishing nearer to you. Quote
