I've been using the Plano spinnerbait box but I've noticed that they bend the spinnerbaits a lot. What do you guys use to store your spinnerbaits. All of the other boxes I've tried they don't fit right.

I use the Plano spinner bait box and havent had any issues with it bending the arms. Notice I said bending. They do "bow" but mine pop right back in shape when released from the catch.

This is how it is for most of them but today I was taking them out and organizing them, and noticed a couple were bent at the tip where it clicks into the holder.

Hmm got me on that one. Ill have to look next time i have them out but I haven't ever noticed that before. Where they a light wire or was there anything like the same size or manufacturer that you were seeing this on? I have 3/8 to 1/2 in mine of all brands and styles. :Idontknow:

I have a BPS worm binder, store the spinnerbaits in the plastic zip loc "pages". Works great and doesn't take up much space.

Same as Evan, I use a small worm binder, I use a magic marker and label the pages such as willow leaf, single, double, Colorado, single, double, etc. Works really well and you can find what you want quickly.

I have used the Plano and have never had a problem with bending.  I think you may have some unusually fragile spinnerbaits that most likely will bend on fish too.  I don't like the fact that I cannot really tell what I've got in the box, so am going to plastic bags.  One design/color in each freezer bag (they are tougher than storage bags, labeled with marker, and all put into a gallon sized freezer bag.

That is what I went away from. I got tired of a 100 bags of stuff. When I want spinner baits I can see the box and get it no digging through a kitchen of bags. I organize mine by size, style, and color and can easily pick what I need out. No getting pricked by hooks and no having to untangle them. To me it was a great trade getting away from bags.

I have the large spinnerbait box I think it holds 100 spinnerbaits.

That's a good idea to mark them, or what I do is take the little paper/cardboard card out of the back of the spinnerbait package and just slide it in under the spinnerbait in the bag/page. Then I can tell the brand, color scheme, and weight.

I've got an older BPS spinnerbait binder. It holds all the spinnerbaits I need and keeps them organized. Unfortunately they discontinued them, but I believe Browning still has their version.

I used a Falcon spinnerbait box before I bought my boat. Now I use a Cook's Go-To tackle system for them and the empty Falcon box sits in my garage.

All the CD cases I've seen are very fragile, so I doubt I can make that work.  The CD wallet sounds like the ticket to me.  I envision one for tandems, one for willow/Colorado.  One of the big challenges of tackle storage is having a system that doesn't store a lot of air, and this looks ideal.  Why didn't I think of that?

A buddy of mine used a CD wallet for years.

I may give this a try.  My big (old) Plano box has a spinnerbait rack on top but it doesn't hold many, and they tangle easily.  CD wallets seem like a very space-efficient idea.

Tight lines,

Bob

Every 90s kid has a few they don't use. I carry mine that way because they don't jingle all day in the back of my car.

I actually use cheap plastic tupperware.  I forget which brand but there's a square shaped one that isn't too tall made to fit the Wonder Bread sized slices of bread.  I store the spinnerbaits flat in the tupperware, with each spinner bait in a sandwich bag of it's own.

I use the plano 3700 spinnerbait box. I don't like it because the skirts get caught under each other. I like the CD case idea.

mine hang on a rack until i want to take them out and then the ones I want go in a tupperware container I found in my wifes parent house. No perfect way to store spinnerbaits. At least not when you have to many of them.

In 1996, when you sell off a bunch of crappy CDs for cash, these things just think of themselves.
