Outdoor Zack Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 The Bait Monkey got me once again! I don't know how he keeps finding me, but he got me to buy a pack of Baby Brush Hogs from Zoom earlier this afternoon. What do you guys think about them? Nice lures or are they overrated? Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted November 12, 2015 Super User Posted November 12, 2015 My bass seem to like 'em quite a bit on a Texas rig or Mojo rig. Quote
Outdoor Zack Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 My bass seem to like 'em quite a bit on a Texas rig or Mojo rig. I hear they work well on the bass in a few local ponds. Amazon had them in Watermelon Red for less than $3.50 for a pack of 12, so I figured "why not?". Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 12, 2015 Super User Posted November 12, 2015 If you only bought one bag that really doesn't count! Yes, they are a very good good bait. 2 Quote

BaitMonkey1984 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Your welcome. I went overboard and bought a bunch of them last year and never really gave them a fair shot. They look good, but I gotta give them a fair shake next year. Quote
Jaw1 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Hate them, melted down the ones I had and poured my own. I think I've caught 1 fish on a brush hog but wouldn't swear on it Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 12, 2015 Super User Posted November 12, 2015 1/2 oz black jig + Zoom Brush Hog Castaic Choice has caught me more 10+ pounders than all my other baits put together. Baby Brush hogs ain´t bad, unfortunately they are somewhat small. 1 Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted November 12, 2015 Super User Posted November 12, 2015 Bait monkey gotcha for a whoopin $3.50 huh? Good gracious... 1 Quote
S. Sass Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Baby Brush Hogs I have used as trailers on Jigs and spinner baits with good success. White, Black and Green Pumpkin are the only colors I use but I would use any of the dark colors if I was out of my go to colors had them instead. I think I paid just over $2.00 for the last couple a packs at my local Walmart. $2.38 it was a pack just checked. Quote
RCCA Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 You need to buy more of them if you fish in the South. Quote
clh121787 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Hundreds if not 1000+ on a brush hog of some sort Quote
Outdoor Zack Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 Bait monkey gotcha for a whoopin $3.50 huh? Good gracious... Maybe I forgot to mention the dozen bags of worms, handful of spinners, half dozen poppers, and jigs I bought earlier this week... Quote

PAGreg Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I like the super hogs better. Many more fish on them. Quote
Super User Ratherbfishing Posted November 20, 2015 Super User Posted November 20, 2015 Fished a baby brush hog. Worked great. Moved to the standard size (had to borrow one from a friend because I was out) and caught my biggest fish of the day. Yes they are pretty good baits. 1 Quote
