I have been a memeber on this site for several years. I have had 3 recent posts removed recently. All were valid questions to try and get reviews on products and learn some new things. So to the people who wants to remove my post, thank you and you have lost a member. I could see one or two being an accident but after the last one being removed, Im done. It was a simple question I asked" what are the best Quantum reels on the market" I was planning on getting a new reel and wanted to know what yall thought. I had a few replies but then was deleted. I will now invest my time in another site. So to the the person who has been deleting my posts, thanks and now you will not have to deal with anymore of my questions. I thought this website was to learn more about fishing and gain knowledge but you cant when someone keep deleting posts.

Your Quantum thread is still up.  Most were wondering why no reply to questions answered back asking for more info on what reels you were interested in to give you feedback.  I know I responded twice and offered, just needed more as I fish A  LOT of Quantums.

Your thread is still up in the rod & reel section. Maybe it was moved to the appropriate forum.

^I'm a bit oblivious to the sections 99% of the time.  I just click on 'New Content' every time I come in....and rarely notice the sub-sections.

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the "Everything Else" forum?  ;)

Correct.  However, this is where the OP posted it.  Had I moved it to the correct forum, he would've thought this, too, was deleted, and would not have seen the answer.

I am not sure what software this forum was built on but several different forum software's offer a methods to moving posts that alert the ones who participated in a thread. Either with a PM or email or both. Also some allow the admin to leave a "shadow" of the thread so all can see where it was moved to because not everyone reading it may have actually participated. Just a thought that help prevent this from happening in the future.  :l_angel:

We only do this for new members, not members with 200+ posts.  The rationale is that by that time, they understand how the site works.  You need only click on your name in the upper right, and pick "My Content" to find all your threads and posts.

Every now and then this happens.  I've seen it before, and will see it again.

Somebody who doesn't understand how things work here will get all upset because they think we're doing something to them, when it reality it's a simple function of keeping things orderly, or may even be the way the site technically works.

Most people laugh at themselves when they find out what's going on, but some people can't be talked off the ledge.  They take it personally, raise a stink, and run away with their fists in the air.

Usually they do it via a nasty PM or email to me, but this guy decided he would make a "statement" by doing it publicly.

Well.... he made a statement.  Doubtful it was the message he meant to deliver though.

I rarely go into the forum sections since 'view new post' options work great, but does this forum have a ghost link like other forum software (ie: vbulletin) when a thread gets moved?
