Hogs4Dayz Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I am in the business for a new tackle bag for bass fishing. I do not own a boat so I would like this bag to hold a good bit of gear, but i also want to keep all of my things organized. it NEEDS to have two straps( i had a one strap previously and they tear up your shoulders). I am looking for the bag to be under $80 too. Any suggestions would help, thanks in advance Quote
Evan K Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 BPS Pro Qualifier backpack- very cheap, solidly built and tons of storage without being huge. I like using the thin (3601) Plano boxes, and I can fit almost 10 boxes plus 3 bags of plastics in it. Best tackle bag I've seen/used by far. Quote
Silas Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 I really like my large Cabelas Pro Angler! Just buy the bag and get your own boxes. Holds a ton of stuff. Nice thick comfy straps and lots of compartments I believe the large without boxes was $64. I looked at the Magnum and that sucker could fit the width of a pickup bed!! Perhaps the Medium would be best to tote around on the bank. I liked a long time and although I liked the Shimano bag too, I felt the Pro Angler was superior. Quote
5fishlimit Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Look at the military style backpacks on Amazon. They are inexpensive, well built and can hold several 3705 size boxes. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 8, 2015 Super User Posted November 8, 2015 I bought a Spiderwire backpack a few years ago. It holds 4-5 3400s, has lots of pockets, holding straps and two rod holders. I use is shore and kayak fishing. It's held up great. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted November 8, 2015 Super User Posted November 8, 2015 Tackle Warehouse has a $70 backpack bag that is set up for you to be nice and organized (separate areas for plastics, three 3700 boxes, holster for pliers, water bottle holder, etc). The prior model had some durability issues, but this one seems to be pretty rock solid. It should also be 20% off for the Black Friday weekend. Quote
Hogs4Dayz Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 Yeah, Silas i was just checking out the shimano bags and they are pretty nice but they are kinda pricy I really like my large Cabelas Pro Angler! Global Moderator Mike L Posted November 10, 2015 Global Moderator Posted November 10, 2015 Flambeau AZ8, AZ6, AZ4 depending on the size you want. IMHO, they have all the right pockets, zippers and sections in the right place. They are perfect for a co angler as they are taller than the usual bag, but narrower which saves space. Mike Quote
JigMe Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Have you looked into fishpond vest? Since you will be fishing from shore, and you might not want to carry a large backpack with you. No need to bring everything with you when you bank fish. Personally, I think a good fishing vest will do the trick. But of course, if you really wanted a backpack then go with TWS's angler backpack. Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted November 10, 2015 Super User Posted November 10, 2015 I carry a flambue quick draw.it holds 3 3600 size boxes and lots of room for other things.i use mine on my yak and shore and it isnt heavy or awkward by any means.it has a hand strap and a shoulder strap. hawgenvy Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but I really love my Swiss Gear shoulder bag when I'm roaming the banks for a couple of hours with just one or two rods, because it's comfortable, light weight, has a bunch of pockets and zippered compartments, holds a hundred things including a couple of small plano boxes, and I can reach into it so easily because it hangs over my hip within very easy reach. Has a big zippered pouch where I usually have a gallon sized zip lock full of plastcs. Comfortable straps too. Quote
