Lets share what we use when we throw the Ned Rig.

I use a 6' L paired with a size 2000 Cabela's Fish Eagle Tournament II Spinning Reel with 20lb Power Pro Braid, sometimes with a 6lb flouro leader....sometimes not.

A 6' ML Berkley lightning rod, with a older shakespeare agility reel.  6lb trilene XT.  Pretty cheapo, but it does the job.

7' LF TFO Signature Series rod, old Shimano AeroSymetre reel, 6lb. Trilene XL (now changed to 6lb. Yo-Zuri Hybrid).  In open water, it's fun to fish light Ned Rigs on my UL spinning outfits, too.

Tight lines,

Bob

There are some FINE combos listed above !! ... I use a 7' ML Fast Cabela's rod , President 6925 , #8lb. Power Pro Yellow , #6lb. InvizX leader , Gopher 1/16th oz. mushroom jig #4 hook size or ZMan finesse mushroom type jig head , ZMan TRD , ZMan ZinkerZ cut in half , ZMan BatwingZ (smaller version) Gulp Alive Marinade or Pro Cure Scent . * You can probably tell I have pictures on my wall of all the Midwest Finesse / Ozark Forum studs who are taking the Ned Rig to the next level  ...On this site -T9 & Bluebasser 86 absolutely rule !! If they don't know the answer to a Ned rig question - it's probably not worth knowing !!

I'm using a 7' 2" Diawa Cielo ML fast with a Shimano Sahara 1000 spooled with 10 lb power pro and a 8 lb flouro leader. This is the same set up that I use for dropshots and spybaits. I stick with the Z Man TRD on their mushroom head for now, next summer I'll play with an Erie darter on the mushroom head instead.

I have a couple of setups that I fish the Ned Rig on.   My favorite is the St.Croix LTB 6'10" MLXF it has a Pflueger Patriarch 25 with 10LB Super Slick 8 braid and a 6lb FC leader.    The other is a St. Croix LTB 6'10" MXF with a Pflueger Supreme MGX 25 same line setup.

I am fortunate enough to have several other very nice setups, but find myself reaching for these two more often than not.

For now I am using a Guido Hibdon Diawa 6'3" Finess Rod with a new Plueger Supreme XT. I am using 7lb. Sniper and the usually Z Man heads and TRD. I am thinking about changing the rod to a St Croix 6'9' ml. and go with 10lb. braid and  7lb leader.Just started using the Ned Rig so I am still learning it.
