Off topic: If you want to learn to improve your jig fishing skills fish at night with no light and rely on feel. You will learn to focus on what is going on underwater with your jig.

Tom

I fish about 5 tourneys a year at night and black and blue 3/8oz jig is all I throw

Gotta be honest I don't like how it palms at all. My stupid short fingers. It looked like it would palm like the E series Chronarchs. Can't wait to fish it either way.

Edit*

This handle is crazy long. I was under the assumption the longer one in Japan was equal to the standard size here. I was way off lol

Sounds like we have similar techniques.  Difference is, I've never bass fished at night.  Probably should try it.  I've always joined friends for catfishing at night.

That looks like a really nice reel.  Not sure about the brakes -- will watch for the answer on that as I'm curious, too.

5lb smallies at night, incredible! It's so much fun. Hate bats flying around though.

Just pulled the trigger order Met XG from JLS. Stupid PayPal ended up using the wrong conversion rate so I ended up paying $9.xx more than what I was supposed to. Called them and they gave me 5 different answers. Smfh anyhow $282.27 still want to get that zillion though lol

Great choice!

You're right, the handle is really long. So is the reel itself. Takes a little getting used to...

Yeah idk how I feel about the top section where I normally rest my index finger. It's feels like a 90 degree angle like the Tats. Plus it's farther up. I can palm them fine on standard reel seats but not on the *** reel seat my pinky ends up above the trigger, no Bueno. Stupid fingers are short.... It feels good on my Dobyns.. idk the standard Fuji seat? Really awkward on the Irod skeletal seat. Pack bay minima I think. Going out Sunday gonna try both shallow 3/8oz jigs on a point and then heave out some 1/2-3/4oz footballs to some 20-30ft structure. See if I can get a bite going. May throw a spinnerbait too. That will give me a good idea on how I feel about the handle before I decide to switch it out.
