hardwoodcd Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I caught my pb tonight! I took a few pics by myself and got a weight. Then released. Now I'm wishing I would've taken done measurements because I'm thinking about a replica mount. Do you guys think I'm screwed or what little I have might be good enough. Quote
hardwoodcd Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 Can't figure out how to post a pic or I would've! Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted November 4, 2015 Super User Posted November 4, 2015 What's the weight? You can sort of guesstimate length from width and vice versa. Quote
clh121787 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Yup. If you are serious contact lake fork taxidermy. It's a little steep. 350 for a 10 pounder. I think a little less for a smaller fish. But they do world class work Quote
Basswhippa Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I'm in a pickle myself. I caught some two truly massive smallmouths this week. A 7.72 followed by a 7.9 plus a 6.1. I want at least one replica, but the fish were short tanks, and I suspect there is a lack of molds. The 7.9 was only 21.5 inches, and the 7.72 was only 21. They were super dense TN river tanks, like RW has in in his profile. Any suggesions? Doubt the molds are out there. The 7.9 was caught before, with a torn mouth. Someone else may get to enjoy, I paid it forward as someone did me. I have used Lake Fork with largemouth with good result, but suspect that is there area of expertise, largemouth. Looking hard at Angler Choice. Quote
