Robert Riley Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Anyone on here ever use a small plastic swimbait on a shakeyhead? I'm talking like a Keitech Shad Impact or Easy Shiner, nothing big that displaces water. Just had the idea while I should have been paying attention in physics... Quote
travis23 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I've heard or read of people doing it. Give it a shot, it sounds good! Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted November 3, 2015 Super User Posted November 3, 2015 Absolutely. I've used shakey heads a lot more this year than in years past and love the versatility and weedlessness. They work for larger swimmers, too. Not necessarily dead-sticking, but some, like Megastrike and Owner swim surprisingly well. Just allows for dead or twitch or jump or swim...good action and not getting hung much. Quote
clh121787 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 No. But id be willing to bet it works. I'll try it on some bedfish next spring Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted November 4, 2015 Super User Posted November 4, 2015 1/8th oz. shakeyhead of your choice ; Havoc Beat Shad in Pearl Silver ; Use a Spike It Dip-N-Glo chartreuse garlic marker and make a single vertical stripe on each side in the space where the beat shad body meets the paddle tail ... Cast out and let it get to the bottom (50% chance of getting bit on the fall) . Then alternate between short hops and drag several inches . Cheap experiment with great action ... As long as nearby bass are not in a coma or brain dead , you will get bit !! Quote
georgeyew Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 I've fished a fluke on a shakey head. It looks very promising, however I haven't had any bites yet. 1 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted November 4, 2015 Super User Posted November 4, 2015 Use one with a football shaped head. When it hit rocks and rip rap, it kicks the tail of the bait up. Works well for fall and spring bites, when fish are shallow and weeds are few. 1 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted November 6, 2015 Super User Posted November 6, 2015 I know a lot of people fish swimbaits on the bottom with swing heads. Not quite the same as a shaky head but similar. Quote

You can catch a bass on anything, but I think you kind of answered your own question LOL. Such a cool class with so much application to fishing!!! -T9 Quote
