Super User Choporoz Posted November 10, 2015 Super User Posted November 10, 2015 20# PP with 8# Yo Zuri Hybrid leader. Love the 'manageability' and the visibility of the braid. Quote
zeth Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 10lb SX1 I never use more than 10lb on my spinning reel. never have a need to use a larger diameter which IMO provides less performance and is overkill. I use 30 size Quantum reels. 1 Quote
DTack Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I recently tried Sufix Performance Braid. One of the quietest braids I've used and the cheapest. Good stuff. Try 15-20# range. My favorite braid. I only have it on one spinning rod in I believe 20lb but it is thin enough that I don't see reason to go down any further. Quote

Joe H. Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I use 12 lb sunline sx to a 6 lb leader, works fine only the leader knot I use (blood knot) is really hard to tie with this particular braid. Usually takes me a few tries. Quote

Usually takes me a few tries. Blood knots are great but hard to tie. There is a trick to tie them easy. You end up with the same number of wraps on each line and your tags both come out the same side but it's a easy blood knot. 1 Quote

Ya it's not too much of a problem with heavier braid to fluoro but with 12 lb it once took me 20 tries to get it to cinch right! Pretty frustrating when you're on the water. Quote
