BigTonyB Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Punching through giant salvinia....is it worth it? I fish Lake Bistineau in NW Louisiana and if you've fished it you know Louisiana is fighting giant salvinia there and other lakes in the area. It's discouraging to come around a bend in the channel and see your favorite fishing hole completely covered in salvinia. Is it worth trying to punch through it and get below it? Would I be wasting my time? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks, BigTonyB Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 2, 2015 Super User Posted November 2, 2015 Gaint Salvinia is a surface vegetation & is easily punched but you better off staying as near vertical as possible. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Yes, I've caught many fish punching sylvania. Bistineau is a beautiful lake with some good fish! Look for sylvania around trees close to channel swings and hold on! Quote
