desmobob Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I recently installed Apple's new "El Capitan" update to my MacBook Pro's OS. Since then, I've experienced slow browsing performance in Safari, and initially spotty and, now, total lack of e-mail notifications from Bass Resource. The second update to El Capitan (10.11.1) seemed to help the slow browsing problem. I've checked my settings here on BR and they are unchanged. My Mac's e-mail settings are set to flag suspected junk mail but still put it in my In Box. I'm not receiving any notifications from BR now. I'm not very computer savvy... can anyone offer any suggestions or help? Thanks, Bob Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted November 1, 2015 Super User Posted November 1, 2015 There was a thread recently where glenn said he turned off all notifications due to spam. You need to go in and manually turn them back on. Quote
desmobob Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 There was a thread recently where glenn said he turned off all notifications due to spam. You need to go in and manually turn them back on. I checked my notification settings right away... everything looked just the way I had it in the past (auto-follow; instant e-mail notification). What about the very first option on the Notification Options page: "Privacy Settings" "Send me news and information"? That one was not selected. I just checked that box and I'll see what happens, but I thought that was more for general mailings and news; not notifications... Thanks, Bob Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted November 1, 2015 Super User Posted November 1, 2015 I'm not getting any notifications either....so I think I need to go check my settings Quote
desmobob Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 I'm not getting any notifications either....so I think I need to go check my settings Reviewing my settings and checking that first box I mentioned in my post above didn't fix things. I found this new post in my thread by using the "View New Content" button. :-( I guess if other folks are having the same difficulty, it's not a problem with the update on my MacBook's OS. :-) Tight lines, Bob Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted November 2, 2015 Super User Posted November 2, 2015 I havent been able to receieve notifications from this site via email for a couple months now. I will get the random personal conversation alert but its a PM that was sent 1-2 weeks prior. Nothing being sent to my spam either. All my settings are correct as well. No idea what the issue is. BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 10, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 10, 2015 Make your selection, then click "Save" at the bottom of the page where you made your selection. I know...intuitive. Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Lol and what do we do when that doesn't work? Quote
desmobob Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Make your selection, then click "Save" at the bottom of the page where you made your selection. I know...intuitive. I did that each time I checked my settings. Still no notifications. I just went to my setting again and selected the box to have followed topic replies notifications in the notifications list on the site as well as via e-mail. And, as always, I clicked the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page. Tight lines, Bob Quote
