dam0007 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Hey guys, so I have a tourney this Sunday and hopefully will get out to practice Saturday as well. So been throwing 15-17lb FC as my main line however no one local has anything other than Red label or Trilene. Any other brands any of you throw that have really good abrasion resistance that someone local might have??? DSG has p lines stuff and Sufix FC which I haven't tried either. I've heard horror stories about the Sufix FC but I love their monos.... Help lol please Quote

I may have to make the hour and half drive to my Cabelas and grab AbrazX :/ don't want Seaguar but I know it will work. Quote

NathanW Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Red Label and Trilene (assuming its 100% Fluoro) will have you pretty well covered. Red Label, when brand new is extremely manageable and casts great, holds up just fine to most types of cover. I like it for any chuck and wind applications. It tends to coil up on reels that dont see a lot of use but its a great everyday line and cheap. Trilene on the otherhand covers the other end of the spectrum as it is stiff, strong and its abrasion resistance is right up there with Shooter and Abrasx. Its great for heavy cover pitching, using as leader, rocky areas, C-Rig, T-Rig, jigs. People struggle with Trilene that don't have a lot of Fluorocarbon experience, just an fyi. Quote

I have some red label it can't handle the 3/4oz tungsten sliding on it. May try the Trilene out. Gonna hit a shop tomorrow Am before practice that's near the lake. Quote
