BIG M Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 The baits are not are not new just extra bling on the first two pics. Give me some opinions because it's a pain in the butt to do. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 They really look great. Quote
Fishwhittler Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Interesting effect on the top baits. Now if you did an entire bait like that... Quote
BIG M Posted January 25, 2010 Author Posted January 25, 2010 It would take all day to do the entire bait with those scales. Those two baits took about 45 min apiece. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 personally, i don't like it. i think it would look better if the entire bait was done with that, but if it takes that much work then i don't think it would be worth it. Quote
TrippyJai Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I personally don't like it as much either. I don't feel like it needs the extra bling. The last bait in the batch is awesome... Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm not that crazy about the finish on the 1'st two pics, but I like the last one. Oh yea Marty, I received my lures today, the foiled finish and the dolphin color, and I'm very pleased. Outstanding quality...super paint job Thanks again Marty Quote
whittler Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Nice work on those Marty. I know what you mean about those foil scales, if you charged by the hour it would triple the price of the bait. I still have a couple of those with complete scales somewhere that I dig out once in a while just to remind my self, what were you thinking. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 what is it about the foil scales that makes them such a pain to apply? from the pics it just appears to be sticking on little circles of iridescent film. what am i missing? Quote
bmadd Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 When you consider how small each scale is and think about trying to remove each piece of backing from each little sticker before placing them in perfect placement. Pretty painstaking...it's also rough on an old man's eyes ;D Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 ...it's also rough on an old man's eyes this must be it Quote
BIG M Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 There are 50 of those little scales on each bait and the stuff is transparent. It's not easy getting a knife point between the backing and the film. I'm not sold on the pattern I used, less would have been more I think. I need to get the baits wet and see how they look in the water. I got the idea from LC's American Shad. Foil is 10x easier and less time consuming. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I think it would look cool across the back or the rounded part into the back Still cool. Quote
