Has anyone that has a Revo MGX had any issues with it yet? This is my first year using the MGX and I'm pretty impressed. I've never stripped the reel down and did a thorough cleaning, is it difficult to take apart? I've seen youtube videos on disassembly, but seeing how to take something apart from a professional is much different than trying it yourself.

I guess it is issue free.

My buddy bought one on sale for 300 bucks, we fished for about 3 hrs one evening and that night he went on line and read a bunch of reviews of people having issues with them. So he sold it for 250 and bought the new lews team lite speed spool that I recommend and he loves it. The lews is really nice, and so was the abu but the reviews worried him. I would send it to a an abu dealer and have it cleaned and oiled. I'm very mechanical and do almost all my auto repairs, I probably could do the reels if I watched some videos but I don't I send them.

How much does a cleaning typically cost?

Save your money and do it yourself. Its not difficult at all. I used to be intimidated myself about taking it apart, cleaning, lubing, and reassembling. Its easy. Take pics of each step and place the parts in order.

Except if you mess it up you're out 300 dollars instead of 75. :-)

I started on cheap Bass Pro reels by watching Youtube videos about cleaning & supertuning.  I would be hesitant to start the learning process on a nice Abu Mgx.
