lordpaxin Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Hello I've been searching for info and reviews on this line of rods but there's nothing. No reviews. No field tests. Nothing Quote

lordpaxin Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Your rightThey have a horrible reputation based on the experiences with customer returns of damaged rods They have since taken new ownership, and have taken initiative to correct the issues that plagued the past company. recent buyers have had no issues with returns or contacting customer service. I just spooled up a quantum tourMg mounted on a CS pro Ti mediumAnd I am extremely pleased so far 2 Quote

Was it Boyd Duckett who started Carrot Stix ? Quote

Big C Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I don't have the Pro Grade Ti's, but I have three of the originals. I love them. They get a ton of hate, but I would say they are about as good as a $100 rod can get. Good looking combo. 2 Quote
kolton Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I have two of the 6'9" MH Micro Guides and love it for Creature Baits and Jigs. Quote
desmobob Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Hey! It's just the right color to use as a tomato stake in the garden! ;-) Just kidding! I bought several rods from a company that supposedly had a similar glitch early on but had changed a few things to get straightened out. I'm more than happy with them... love them in fact. Best of luck with that nice-looking new rod! Tight lines, Bob Quote
lordpaxin Posted October 25, 2015 Author Posted October 25, 2015 First day in the lake with it Using 20lb Cabelas long cast (not impressed) Had to drag it through some tree tops and the rod held great Very sensitive and a good backbone The longcast line doesn't cast well It's a 20lb line that casts like 50 lol Quote
James Pondscum Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Try some line conditioner. I use it on my braid . Casts improve and color lasts longer. Quote
lordpaxin Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Thank you , I'll check it out That Cabelas line is a flouro bonded braid Stiff and wiry Trading it out with some 30lb USA braid I have Smaller diameter and softer Plus it's orange lol Quote

Jaw1 Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Not sure about the new rods but I owned 4 of the originals ($150) rods and liked them, never broke any and I used the 7/6 for pitching. I beat it up pretty good with no issues. Probably would still be fishing them but wanted to try something new, sold them to 2 buddies that still use them. 1 Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted October 27, 2015 Super User Posted October 27, 2015 i still have a 7'XH that i used for throwing buzz frogs and other baits , the rod is pretty light and i must say , pretty strong !! love the blank it's built on , if it was a 7'6'' or longer , i would strip it down and have it rewrapped !!! as of now , it just sits in the corner . BTW , it's one of the originals ... 1 Quote

I do take great care of my rods, though. Quote

Mine is an original also, I've had it for many years. Quote

Mine has seen pretty much all braid and the guides have held up fine. The only negative I have about the rod is the crappy squishy eva grips. Quote
cottny27 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I have never used a Carrot Stik. Just handling them in the store makes me want to try one. They feel very light and well balanced especially the Wild Black model. I'd give one a try for sure. I like Duckett and I've heard they are basically the same. Quote
pennix5 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 I own 2 wild wild black one casting one spinning light , sensitive , great backbone will be purshacing another one for crankbaits Quote
