Super User Catch and Grease Posted October 20, 2015 Super User Posted October 20, 2015 They are down two games and technically statistics put them at a 17% chance to win the series now based on previous situations like these but I just know the cubs are the one team that could do it. Just like the red Sox that broke their WS drought they were down 3 games and came back and won the rest amazingly. We lost the first game vs the cardinals which statistically put us at a about 25% chance to win and we beat them 3 games in a row! The mets threw a strike the first pitch 68% of the time against the cubs who are one of the most patient ball clubs this year, combine that with an umpire that has a large strike zone and you can really hurt the cubs. But the 2015 cubs adapt so well I feel the mets could be just like the cards... Lol I don't know but there isn't anything I would love better than the cubs going to the world series... Oh wait, yes there is! They are gonna win it, let's go cubbies! Been waiting my whole life for this... Quote

Super User K_Mac Posted October 20, 2015 Super User Posted October 20, 2015 There are several generations of Cubs fans who have come and gone still waiting for a World Series championship. I hope they get it done this year, but do not bet much on it. They have a long tradition of not... Quote

JDJ Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Well, the Cubs pitched their 2 aces to 2 losses already in this series. We'll see what's in the tank for tonight. I'd love to see a Cubs-Royals matchup for the big prize! Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted October 20, 2015 Author Super User Posted October 20, 2015 Four games. They are just four games away from doing something that hasn't been done in 70 years. And they are 8 games away from breaking a 108 year world series drought. So close yet so far away! Quote
Western-Mass-Bass Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I know what it was like to see my Red Sox get a world series. So HELL ya cubs fans!!! Its your turn. Quote

Super User deaknh03 Posted October 21, 2015 Super User Posted October 21, 2015 The cubs are the worst team in pro sports. Havent even made it to a series in 70 years..perennial basement dwellers. I would bet they have the worst winning percentage of any team besides expansion teams. They suck. Eveey year. Forever..that being said I am 50/50 about them winning it. Their fans deserve it but then what? The lovable loser tag disappears and you become just a loser. Quote

Yeah because they suck so bad this year right? I mean they only made it to the pennant series right? Red Sox came back from 0-3 in 2004 to end their drought, maybe the cubs can copy them. I guess we can't complain if we drop this series, this whole club is being lead by rookies this year so where are we gonna be next year, what about the year after that? Quote

Back 20 years ago when baseball did it right, teams like this years cubs would be home watching division champs play. But I guess everybody gets a trophy these days. Quote

JDJ Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Well, the Cubs had no pitching or hitting tonight. But other than that... Come on young Cubs, pull one out in Game 4!! Quote

Oh wait, yes there is! They are gonna win it, let's go cubbies! Been waiting my whole life for this... Speaking of stats..I saw a stat that showed the cubs pitchers have thrown 1 pitch over 95mph in this series and the mets pitchers have thrown something like 180 over 95mph. That is a crazy statistic. This year has been a most improbable run for the mets. I never expected to be up 3-0 on the cubs. But we still need one more and hopefully Matz can go out there tonight and keep this very potent young cubs line up in check just one more time. Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted October 21, 2015 Super User Posted October 21, 2015 I'd love to see the Cubs win the whole thing. My father saw the Sox lose '46, '67, '75, and '86. I was just a baby in '67, so I remember only '75 & '86... We've been spoiled here in Boston in the last 12 years or so... it's Chicago's turn.... Best of luck to them! 1 Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted October 22, 2015 Super User Posted October 22, 2015 Cubbies better wake up.... My royals got caught snoozing today. Quote
