dam0007 Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 If Havoc is their premium bait why is it so much cheaper than the Powerbait counterparts?? Gulp is a different ball game because they incorporate a container and attractant liquid into prices for some items. But between Havoc and their regular line. I don't get it? Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted October 18, 2015 Super User Posted October 18, 2015 Havoc is their economy line. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted October 18, 2015 Super User Posted October 18, 2015 Have you compared both plastics? Havocs: cheaply made look a little shoddier and have less clean edges little to no scent. still catch fish Powerbait More attention to detail reeking with scent still catch fish It's up to you to decide which to fish with. Easy solution for me; both! 2 Quote
dam0007 Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 I'm going off comparing the Bottom Hopper and Berkley Shakey head worm lol $3 vs $6. But even still the pit bosses are awesome for the money, super durable. Quote
BaitMonkey1984 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Powerbait scent is great. Also, the baits are better made. That said. I got a literal "boat load" of both. The Havoc Smash Tubes by Ike are the only tubes I use, and I really like the Havoc Pitbossess and Havoc back slides. My favorite texas rigged bait is the 4" inch berkley powerboat crazy chigger craw in green pumpkin. Use them both. They are both great baits, and the havocs fish like a much more expensive bait. Super User HoosierHawgs Posted October 19, 2015 Super User Posted October 19, 2015 I'm gonna have to say I have moved away from either one. Big Bite Baits by Spro is my go to nowadays. Quote
dam0007 Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 I throw dozens of brands. Certain trailer work better for me, certain worms etc etc. just never knew havoc was the cheap line from them I thought it was their flagship way it is promoted. Quote
blckshirt98 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Havoc is zero scent just mass produced from plain plastic molds they they probably pour by the truckload for dirt cheap. Berkley's done an amazing job marketing the Havoc line as pro-designed(with a name attached), and keeping the price lower per bait than almost all of their competitors. They've also done a great job of putting out some unique colors that you don't see elsewhere. $3 for a bag of plastics is dirt cheap in today's market, and they're durable too. The pit boss has to be a staple in almost everyone's collection. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted October 19, 2015 Super User Posted October 19, 2015 I love them both .... Fish don't care ... Especially when you throw a little JJ's or Megastrike on it. 1 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted October 20, 2015 Super User Posted October 20, 2015 Love the Pit boss and chigger craw.Throw them alot Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted October 20, 2015 Super User Posted October 20, 2015 I buy havoc for the bait designs which in a number of cases are kind of unique, and I buy powerbait for the....powerbait. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 20, 2015 Global Moderator Posted October 20, 2015 Both lines of baits work great. I've found a spot in the boat for almost all the Havoc baits I've tried. 1 Quote

Lol idk how they make money with sales like that. Because it probably cost them .50 to produce a bag Then when they sell 5 bags at a time to thousands of us at a time, they have no complaints. Big Bite is it's owned by Spro. Spro is actually owned by Gamakatsu. Either way though Big Bite makes some good soft plastics! 1 Quote

Also explains why their stock hooks are ALWAYS Gamies too haha. Big Bite does sell their stuff for a good price. They also make the Gander Mountain line of soft plastics which can usually be found even cheaper, or in more of a bulk package. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted October 20, 2015 Global Moderator Posted October 20, 2015 Yes sireee. IMHO, Pit Boss And Sweet Beaver are the best punching baits you can buy. Mike Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted October 20, 2015 Super User Posted October 20, 2015 All I can tell you is the fish will fight you for a Powerbait Chigger Craw. Even when they feel your resistance, they'll hold on and try to yank it away. 1 Quote

dam0007 Posted October 21, 2015 Author Posted October 21, 2015 I've tried trigger craws not bad at all but my rage craws and chunks have been my go to trailers. Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted October 22, 2015 Super User Posted October 22, 2015 I've tried trigger craws not bad at all but my rage craws and chunks have been my go to trailers.I watched a guy at BPS demonstrate them in the tank and I was sold. I bought a pack of 4" Crazy Legs Chigger Craws shortly thereafter. They will bight the appendages off, but they really like that thing, and they seem to throw themselves at it. Quote
