Has anyone seen or bought a Tatula XT?  Please write a review.

add a comparison to the Tatula if possible...

Here's 1 comparison:  that rod keeper on the XT looks to be in a good spot, the rod keeper on the regular Tat is the worst placement i can imagine.  Gets line caught on it more than all my other rods ever have combined.  I went as far as to pinch it down to try and reduce the problem and then put a fuji keeper on it.

Sorry, that's the only "help" i can be!

which model are you contemplating? The 7'2" H/F standard tat is $99 on Amazon right now. That's a stupid good deal. I'm having an immense amount of trouble not giving in to that temptation myself. I, like everyone else, agree about the hook keeper. While the xt looks to have it in a better place, they should just knock it off with those, anyway. They didn't bother in the steez xt, so maybe that's a harbinger of better times to come.

That Tat is a good deal.. I don't like the reel seat on them or I'd have bought a couple

a long time ago.

The XT looks like a work horse and it has the ACS reel seat. No Bling either, like that too.

the 7'6'' H looks like your best bet since it has a longer handle for better casting .

I have the 7' MH XT and got $99 u can't beat it. It's light sensitive and has plenty of backbone.

See, I love the reel seat on those, at least for a tatula reel. For smaller framed reels like the T3 and SS sv, I think the ACS is more comfortable, at least for a while. It is harder to shift your grip around on the ACS than it is on the tatula seat, but with a small reel mounted it doesn't feel to me like there's enough to hold on to for a secure grip. The other side of that coin is that a larger reel like a tatula mounted on an ACS feels too bulky to get a secure grip. I wear size large gloves like most guys.

That's good to know.. I'm definitely going to buy one, maybe two. I'm waiting for them to show up in stock at BP or Cabela's so I can choose without any guess work.

The flared skeletal sides bite into my hand..

I use Lews tourney pro's and team reels. Both are very comfortable on the ACS for me.

I second the love for the regular tat and reel seat. That feel with a tat reel is what made me buy both the first time but I haven't tried it with a smaller reel.

I'd like to see the Steez Xt...

Yeah, I wouldn't mind one of those. I think I'd rather have a Zillion, though.
