styksnstryngs Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 What lures do you think are most essential for multispecies fishing, including bass, trout, and crappie? For beginners, i think a limit of $50 is reasonable. Fir me, im looking at Best of the east panther martin spinners, $17 3" curly tail grubs, $5 Buzzbait, $5, x2 Casting spoons, $3, x2 Any suggestions? Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted October 14, 2015 Super User Posted October 14, 2015 In-line spinners? check curly tail grubs? check spoons? check Those are always the first ones that come to mind for me. Buzzbaits don't really, unless you include pike and muskie in the multi-species pool. You might consider a floating minnow, like a rapala original floater. 1 Quote

blckshirt98 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Just as a follow up look into the 4.5" Yum Sharpshooter. Those are a game changer for budget fisherman, $3 for 20 baits and they're killer on a dropshot. 1 Quote
bigbassin' Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 1 pack of junebug worms, 1 pack of watermelon worms, 1 pack of flukes, 1 chrome and blue rattle trap. $14 and all you'll ever need. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted October 16, 2015 Super User Posted October 16, 2015 Welcome to the forums! For multi-species? I pick live bait... Though I've caught plenty on Zoom Finesse worms probably more than any other baits. Quote
JigMe Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I have caught multispecies (Bass, trout, crappie, bluegill, catfish) using small Crank Baits that’s designed for crappies. Another bait you can look into will be rooster tail and fish it on a ultra-light rod is extremely fun. Quote
Jaw1 Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Gy shad shaped worm catch just about everything 1 Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 5" stickbait (like a Senko). Yum Dingers are good and durable Quote
budgetbassin Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Get a few crappie-sized crankbaits. They are generally inexpensive and extremely effective. They'll catch almost anything especially in smaller bodies of water. For a slightly larger crankbait, try the smaller KVD squarebills like the 1.0 or the Bomber Square As. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted October 17, 2015 Super User Posted October 17, 2015 The three packs of Luck E Strike buzzbaaits at wal Mart is a really good value . I dont care for the three packs of spinnerbaits though . Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted October 17, 2015 Super User Posted October 17, 2015 Beetle Spins. These are always good, and you can use lots of different types of bodies on them if you wish. Quote
