Super User Senko lover Posted October 14, 2015 Super User Posted October 14, 2015 So first of all, let me say I'm not a custom rod builder nor have I had one built for me. But I absolutely love looking at your guys' work. Unbelievable. Every single one makes me want to get a custom myself, and I'm seriously considering purchasing one the next time I need a rod. I love seeing custom rods, and I eagerly follow every build on here. I'd love to have a thread where all the customs are in one place. Even if you create a separate thread for the build, if you could just post a finished product picture on here, it would make a great way to have everything compiled so that we can go back and look through one thread instead of digging through dozens of archive pages. I know for one that if you guys started posting past and current finished builds on here, I could look at it for hours. I don't think I'm the only one . Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted October 14, 2015 Super User Posted October 14, 2015 I'll start with a few of my earlier works. My rod building and photography skills have improved over the years. 4 Quote
EvanT123 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Here you go. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/151165-building-a-handle/?fromsearch=1 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/145990-got-one-on-the-rotisserie/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/136298-2nd-rod/?fromsearch=1 http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/131304-first-rod-build/?fromsearch=1 Your a young man and seem to have a desire to learn. I would recommend you learn how to build rods. Instead of chasing the best rod for xyz dollars and buying them and being disappointed. Learn to do it yourself and you will rarely be disappointed. In my opinion the guide train and build layout is of more importance than the blank. The great thing about building your own rods is you can spread the cost out over time. I have 4 blanks sitting in the corner two with glued up handles and two bare. I'll get them done aty own pace. The great thing about this hobby is 99.99999% of people that do it are willing to share information and insight on how to. 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted October 15, 2015 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2015 Nice work Evan. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience for small minute work like that. I would get far too frustrated, and I'm not a perfectionist either. I'd much rather have a rod built for me than build it myself. Quote
