has anyone used these baits by berkley?  if so how do you rig/fish them?  do they make for a good jig trailer, or better off by themselves?

also, can someone recommend a good jighead to use for such an application?  i checked at academy tonight and all i could find was plain old round jig heads...i was thinking a stand up head might be better

Thanks

The SMB in the avatar was curtousy of the sabertail bug.

I rig it on a jighead that stands up in 1/8 or 3/16 oz.

Imataes a crayfish very well.

I used its cousin, the beast, also by Berkley bait company.  I had a really nice 4.3lber off it, probably because I irritated her off her bed...  Not on purpose, as I couldn't see her until she bit...  Was just hoping for any fish!  lol  That lure produced only one for me, as I only had the one, and now am not able to find anymore, except the online sites...  I don't have a credit card, so I will have to wait and see what comes up in the later months!

gonna give these a try this afternoon.....do any of you guys ever cut the skirts down on your jigs?  i have a couple strike king skirts and they seemed very long...so i cut them down and added them to a football jig with the sabertail bug as a trailer...it looks pretty good, hope the fish think so too...i will let you know how i do!

thanks for the tips

I've had success with them T-rigged; 1/8oz Ultra Steel weight, Ultra Steel clicker and a Gammy light wire 2/0 EWG hook. After reading this thread, I'm gonna have to try "em on a jighead.

Cheers,
