been wanting to get some thread to match a Phenix Ultra 707 ML blank , so far i've been having black thread wraps on my rods but would like to match the blank color , so far i have been looking at Pro-Wrap color fast #850 - Storm Cloud . plus i might have my St.Croix Big nasty 9' swimbait rod re-wrapped with that color thread . opinions please ( i do not want anything but the best color thread to blend with the blank !! ) thanks !!

Any lighter grey nylon should give you what you're looking for on the raw graphite. Not colorfast. You want the regular nylon so it goes translucent once finish is applied.

The charcoal may be too dark.  This is charcoal on NFC raw graphite

If the color matches before finish, chances are it won't match after.

Before finish. Prowrap 822 (silver smoke)

After.

As for your swimbait rod, I've had success on the SCIV with royal blue to make it disappear.

Scotts right. I threw in charcoal because I remember the Phoenix blanks being on the darker side but check first before wrapping guides. A few turns wetted with denatured alcohol will give you a good idea what the end color will be.

That silver smoke looks great ! Might work very well for the Phenix ! Thanks for the post !

Fishhawk gunmetal color almost disappears on raw graphite. Prowrap iron ore darkens and comes very close to blending with raw graphite.

Take my comments with a grain of salt. I'm red-green color blind, so things don't look the same to me as the do to you.

I've used Riley's grips. They're nice but took a while to get.

i imagine they will ,  they are gonna be a lot smaller than his regular rear grips ! hoping to imitate the eva i have on all my rods .
