Bigchunk Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Looking for fluro that will fill two casting reels with 12lb test, im a seaguar man, but the 200 yard spools are not cool. 1000 yards of 12lb will go bad before i use it all. The 15 lb 1000 yards is cool. I cant be the only one Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted October 12, 2015 Super User Posted October 12, 2015 Why not just fill your reel with some backing. 100 yards plus 25-50 yards of backing would be perfect. You can buy a bulk spool of Berkley Big game for under $10 to use for backing. 1 Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted October 12, 2015 Super User Posted October 12, 2015 Put backing in your reels and use 65-75 yards at a time. you arent cast 65 yards at a time. If you buy a 1000 yard spool and keep it in your room or in a closet, it will last for years.... Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted October 12, 2015 Super User Posted October 12, 2015 A 200 yard spool of #16 sniper will do 3-4 reels for me when I use some #12 mono backing. Quote
Capt.Bob Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I always use backing,, but type of fishing and reel size determine how much. If I get a big fish in open water, use a good not and no problem. Fly fisherman usually only have 25 to 30 yards of mainline, and catch some huge fish. I like Abrax myself, good line for the money!! Quote
