Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 17, 2015 Global Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 One thing about written text, there's no way to hear the tone or delivery of the writer. The only tone you hear is your own interpretation of what was written. If you took it as me talking down that's unfortunate, it wasn't meant to be condescending or disrespectful to the poster. I fish a ton and see a lot of scenarios play over and over. The technique I described is the best I've seen to put frog strikes into the boat. If you have something that works for you by all means stick with it. At the same time, you never learn anything by doing things the same way all the time. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted October 19, 2015 Super User Posted October 19, 2015 I don't agree with what you saying or how you're saying it at all. Fish will miss your frog sometimes and it's not going to pop back up immediately if they do, so ripping it as soon as it's gone isn't going to catch anymore fish then waiting to feel their weight. That being said I don't agree with waiting to feel their weight either because if you're actually frog fishing you're using a heavy action rod which aren't exactly sensitive to all weights of fish. In regards to how you responded to someone else's opinion I think, as a moderator, you should be a little more mature about opposing viewpoints, it's called an OPINION, saying "IMO" doesn't justify talking down to someone. I believe in analyzing the bite, whether it's a slurp or a blow-up and using a combination of ripping or waiting methods to set the hook. No need for hostility, boys. 1) there was no hostility... Anywhere. 2) you can't disagree with someone about their point, then say you don't wait to feel the weight either. Hello contradiction... 3) you are quite possibly "calling out" one of the nicest guys on here. There isn't a soul he wouldn't help (maybe not a drum;) ) and he is a huge advocate for the sport to people of all walks of life. 4) his opinion is no different than how this quoted post is your opinion, take it or leave it.... Preferably the later. Good fishing GJM Quote

Good deal, my mistake, it's hard to put text into context. Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted October 19, 2015 Super User Posted October 19, 2015 Always fun to catch bass on topwater frogs.Length doesn't mean much when it comes to bass, what matters is girth. There's double digit bass that are less than 24'' and bass that barely break double digits and are over 27''. Quote
