TackleKing Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Does anyone who has been to Maine or lives in Maine know what the best kind of lures to use there are? I'm going there this weekend and I'm not sure what to use or if I should go get a new one, so please help me out! Quote
Smokinal Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 What water are you fishing? I was out 1.5 weeks ago and water was 65 degrees so I would expect water to be about 60-61 now. I'd throw a red craw trap, green pumpkin Ned rig, jigs in green pumpkin and blk/blu and bama craw; square bills and spinnerbaits. 1 Quote
Scarborough817 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 i would think anything in a bluegill, pumpkin seed or perch pattern should work pretty well. swim jigs, bladed swim jigs, crankbaits, lipless crankbaits and swimbaits in any of those patterns should get at least some reaction strikes once you find them slow down maybe throw a jig or a worm Quote

Id add a weightless worm, a silver buddy and a Huddleston 68. A chatterbait can be deadly too. Once you find out where you are going let us know. 2 Quote
smr_hga Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 When in doubt, throw a jig! I have caught bass, catfish, trout, sunfish, and flounder using this tactic. Quote
ward131 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I just came off the pond. Water temp was 61 deg. I caught 2. For the first time in weeks I caught them in less then 20 feet of water. First was a crankbait along the shore in 11 feet and the second was in 5 feet near a tree using a green worm. I think they are starting to move shallow. 1 Quote
Mainebass1984 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Fishing has been good the past couple days. All the rain last week has brought water levels up and cooled off the lakes. Fri water temp was 57 on the lake I was at and 56 the next day on another body of water. Friday was a bit chilly in the rain. Some better fish have been biting 2 5s, 1 4, and 9 3s amongst the 29 largemouth ive got the past couple days. Moving baits have been working well. Jig has been good as well. Shallow bite seems to be on. Another couple weeks and they will be deep again. Time to get out and fish ! 1 Quote
