Ok which Buzzbait to use first?

Single blade

Double blade

Quad blade

Setup?

Skirt with trailer hook?

Remove skirt add a plastic minnow or fluke?

Never caught a fish on one yet.

Cavitron 3/8oz black skirt with a black blade, no trailer or trailer hook. Fish it on a MH rod 6' 6" to 7' with a higher speed reel and 15lb copoly line and you'll be good to go. Just fish them slowly around shallow cover.

I seem like an outcast but if you don't feel like ordering lures the strike king tour grade buzzbaits from academy or Walmart are pretty good too, but the cavitron is my favorite buzzbait.

The Luck E Strike buzzers in the three packs from Wal Mart work real well and incredibly inexpensive .

Would it be ok to fish them on braid with a fluoro leader?

sure. you can even ditch the leader.

I have to say I like the Booyah buzzbait fairly well too. I've found white outfishes black for me, pretty much all the time.

I have one I don't even know the brand. I think it's an old Strike King, black and blue. I've had days when the skirt gets torn off. So I have some replacements handy. I have a bunch of buzzbaits, but this is pretty much the only one I use.

Hydro gorilla 3/8 white or white/ chartreuse for my with a buggerman in the same colors running a close second. I'm not sure they are made anymore haven't bought one in a few years and haven't looked, but the chatterbuzz baits are about the same. These are very loud clacking buzzbaits that I've had a lot of success on.

I also like the white over the black in most situations. But around here I fish a lot of clear water. Cavitron > All others but don't be afraid to fish what is available or what you already own. You have to make a lot of casts with a buzzbait and cover a lot of water in order to be successful. 

 

Keep a very keen eye on the water as you are retrieving the bait back to the boat. Sometimes when you have a follower you simply have to kill the bait for a second for the fish to strike.

I actually prefer black over white for clear water, but I don't have much white forage around here where I fish.  Although I bet if I put it to a systematic test, I wouldn't find a color difference.
