is there a spray can type clear coat that i could use to spray over my paint as i go that won't react to devcon 2 ton as my final coat? i use the walmart type craft paints and was looking for something to spray on to protect the lure while building or if i mess up a part i don't have to back to the beginning and start again.

Createx make a clear you could spray and dry it with a hair dryer.   Most other clears will take a longer time to dry.   If you don't mind the drying time, minwax polyurathane should work fine.

yeah i know a lot of people that spray createx clear over their paint.

on some of my baits, until i get better, i spray the base colors and then before i go to paint details, i dip it in polyurethane and then once that dries several hours later i will paint the details and if i mess up i wipe it off with a warm wet rag.

Minwax Polyacrylic works well for keeping paint from reacting with topcoat. It's also much more user-friendly than lacquer, as it is far less toxic and you can clean it up with water.
