kodak Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 is there a spray can type clear coat that i could use to spray over my paint as i go that won't react to devcon 2 ton as my final coat? i use the walmart type craft paints and was looking for something to spray on to protect the lure while building or if i mess up a part i don't have to back to the beginning and start again. BIG M Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Createx make a clear you could spray and dry it with a hair dryer. Most other clears will take a longer time to dry. If you don't mind the drying time, minwax polyurathane should work fine. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 30, 2009 Super User Posted December 30, 2009 yeah i know a lot of people that spray createx clear over their paint. on some of my baits, until i get better, i spray the base colors and then before i go to paint details, i dip it in polyurethane and then once that dries several hours later i will paint the details and if i mess up i wipe it off with a warm wet rag. ToledoEF Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I spray clean lacquer between every coat of createx and then 2 coats b4 I final coat! Quote
Fishwhittler Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Minwax Polyacrylic works well for keeping paint from reacting with topcoat. It's also much more user-friendly than lacquer, as it is far less toxic and you can clean it up with water. Quote
