Bobber Stops (Dumb Question)

I slide it up my line, cut my lure off, tie the knot and then slide the bobber stop back down.  Be sure to wet the line when you move it up and down, or it can burn your line.

 

  I've noticed it keeps grass and algae of my knot pretty well.
