I saw a video of someone catching a smallmouth on a plain jighead with berkley gulp scent on it.

Shoestrings , that's right, shoestrings on a jighead for redfish.

My Uncle Danny trolling a Jitterbug behind a row boat on Seneca Lake in Ohio. He had at least 2-ounces of split shot attached to the line to 'get it down deep'.

Dang rascal actually caught a couple Saugeye with that contraption.. It twisted up his line pretty bad but, defying logic, it worked.

Saw an old man using tin foil on his jig heads for crappie, he was killing them.....

I caught a bass on a pickle slice from a McDonald's cheeseburger under a bobber.  It quickly became the most valuable bait of the day.

Didn't see this personaly but a reliable friend told me he saw a couple of guys using cane poles catching crappie on small strips of banana peels.

One of my co-workers likes to fish for carp. He gets a small octopus hook and wraps it in aluminum foil. And thats it, he slays them everytime. I think the sub rays hit the foil and make it iluminate. Making it interesting for fish. Hes caught bass and catfish that way too

I've used pieces of foam on a jighead to catch bluegill.

I remember reading an article a long time ago about guys trolling a Batman action figure and catching lake trout.

I've caught fish with a bare hook before! On of my favorite YouTubers did a gummy worm challenge, he ended up catching a fish by dropshotting a twizzler.

I've also seen some a YouTuber from "Brendan's Fabulous World of Fishing" catch fish on toilet paper, pine needles, etc.

I caught White bass on   cigarette butt's and jig head's . I was anchored above a wing dam on the Mississippi and   could see the whites hitting on top. I wanted my jig  on top , so I put  cigarette butt's on   jig head's under a bobber . I would just hold the bobber in place where the action was and the buoyant jig along with the   current would keep the lure just under the surface . i slayed them that day .

I dont smoke anymore so I will never duplicate it .

Oh, and I believe a member caught a fish on a ladle a while back. Might be remembering it wrong, but I think he caught it out of a koi pond in a Chinese restaurant.......

No, you didn't slay them that day, you smoked them that day!

As a kid, I caught a bluegill and dropped the bare hook back in the water while I was taking it off the hook. I caught another on the bare hook. I'm going to try the Gummy Worm one of these days.

There's the video on YouTube of the guy, Palm Beach Pete I think, catching them on a small wrench with a hook, rigged like a jigging spoon.

With the ideas here, maybe we can ease our bait monkey afflictions.
