Super User MIbassyaker Posted October 6, 2015 Super User Posted October 6, 2015 Not likely to be the most popular choice around here, but I gotta go with Field and Stream's take on this exact question, from 9 years ago: Curly Tail Grub on a jighead: http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/fishing/bass/2006/04/50-greatest-lures-all-time/ It was the first artificial lure I ever had regular success with, and while I don't use them much any more, it's not because they ever stopped producing. They still will catch almost anything, almost all the time. 3 Quote

Big C Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Since the question is "Greatest Lure Of All Time", that does not mean most productive or popular, but suggests best or most fun to fish. The best lure ever is the hollow body frog. It's weedless, extremely effective, and is the most to fish. If you don't believe me watch theTacticallBassin' videos on the Bully Wa2 and the Spittin' Wa. CRAZY! 1 Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted October 6, 2015 Global Moderator Posted October 6, 2015 Break it down even further, I agree a plastic worm type bait is the "best" all time...But which you ask?? For me it's the Sluggo Mike 1 Quote
WPCfishing Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 This is a tough one... I think the most fun and best bass I've caught is with a Gamble Cane toad.. I'm a Rat l Trap nut and I love to flip, pitch and swim a jig. Go Siebert! All said and done on the worst day out there the worms win hands down.............. Quote

For me it's the Sluggo Mike If I had to take a plastic worm type and I like to categorize , worms, craws , lizards ...together, I'd opt for the Zoom Lizard . Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted October 6, 2015 Super User Posted October 6, 2015 i'm pretty partial to the panther martin inline spinner. Black with yellow spots, gold blade 1/8oz. That is the "12 gauge" of lures, will basically hit everything in one shot. thinking the senko/plastic worm is the obvious #2 for me Quote
