Super User ChrisD46 Posted October 5, 2015 Super User Posted October 5, 2015 The Strike King Tour Grade Swim Jig (TW) has a seperate trailer rigging wire below the hook : Do you thread your soft plastic Trailer on the hook first - then through the "trailer rigging wire" next OR just rig your soft plastic trailer separately on the "trailer rigging wire" blow the hook ? ...I have not seen a swim jig with such a separate "trailer rigging wire" below the hook before and just needed advice on the best way to rig soft plastic trailers to the Strike King Tour Grade Swim Jig ... Thanks in advance ! Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted October 5, 2015 Super User Posted October 5, 2015 Thread the trailer onto the hook as you'd normally do, and push the soft plastic up onto the the trailer rigging wire. It helps hold your bait in place. It works pretty well, although it tears up your bait a little more than usual. 1 Quote
Cmiller Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Just thread it on the regular way. It will tear your trailer up faster, which is why I only use the strike king jigs in a pinch. 1 Quote
FinCulture Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 It's really just a bait keeper. It works but, like others have said, it does rip up plastics rather quickly. Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted October 6, 2015 Author Super User Posted October 6, 2015 Thanks for the replies ... I believe I will skip using the bait holder and just use just a small dab of super glue on the head to hold it secure . 1 Quote
Cmiller Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 order some swim jigs from siebert, you won't be dissapointed! Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted October 6, 2015 Super User Posted October 6, 2015 I cut it off and then glue on my trailer,Looks more natural and they last longer Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted October 6, 2015 Super User Posted October 6, 2015 I usually just use one of the screw locks and spin the trailer on there then hook it over the hook bend. Seems to work well for me. Quote
Lendiesel22 Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Bend it open and put on the trailer, then bend it closed. The little bend at the end will grab the trailer. No threading the plastic on the keeper and it does not mess up my rage craws. Or better yet go with dirty jigs or seibert and bypass it all together. They both make a way better jig anyway Quote
