Replacement Lever

Hi,

 

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for this lever? I tried google for a week now and been searching online for a replacement and had no luck. 

Came off my Cajun Pro 150 Bass Boat 15'3" w/ Johnson 90 HP.

I looked up one for a 1980 model motor as a guess, since they used the same control head for a bunch of years and that's about what that one looked like it was,  but here's one for a 1980. 

Not sure what year they started but they used the 0323770 thru 1985

In 1986 they went to part number 0332428 and used that one at least until 1990 and maybe later.

They both look very similar but PN changed for some reason.

 

Later than 1990, call the dealer, they quit listing them with the motors after that, or take your model number of the motor to any dealer and they should be able to order you one.  It's called the neutral lock slide.

You are simply the best resource I have had in these last two weeks. Thank you! I will post any updates if I find a solution!

Your other option would be go buy yourself some JB Weld and try fixing it first. It's not assured it'll work, but that stuff can be pretty amazing at what it'll do. My dad had an 1983 Ranger that had a push pull control for the livewell valves. One snapped shortly after he bought it in the early 90's. He has since sold it and got a different one, but I just saw the boat last weekend and it's still working as it should.

I will look into JB Weld and see if that will last. Thinking about upgrading to the Teleflux instead.. if the only replacement for my unit is $100 shipped.. I might as well upgrade so I know itll last few more years.

To each his own, for $20 you can get the lever and it will probably last as long as the Teleflex, and a whole lot less trouble. 

 

JB weld does not work on plastic,  They make one that does but never tried it.  There are some special glues that will, but they cost almost as much as the handle.

I agree. If I could find the lever for anything below $40.00 I'd buy it. But the only one I found is on eBay for $99... The part I need is no longer provided by evinrude and its either replace the whole unit with teleflex for $300 or buy the one on ebay for $99. 

I made contact with the seller and hopefully I can get it for $50.00 USD like he promised.. still working things out but we will see.

Contacted the welding company and spoke about a discount on their listed eBay pricing.. after couple emails we finally came to an agreement of a solid price. Cant wait for it to be sent.. Gotta do one last run before MN Winter hits us!

I am now in need of the part mentioned above. Can you put me in contact with the guy that had one on ebay to see if he has more? I was told a guy in Houston was making billet aluminum ones. Also exploring the new 3D technology.
