BIG M Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 The baits in the first pic are 3/8 and weigh 1/4oz. I'm playing with the foil again and this batch was not too bad. Pic number 2 and 3 are baits I came up with to use my left over wood. 1 is a wiggle wart clone that's 2 inches long. Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 You set the bar very high Marty. Very nice work. Just as I expected. I like the 2'nd and 4'th pics. Is one a silver foil and one a gold foil, or is my eyes deceiving me? Can you do one of them in the bait we been discussing? Good job Marty. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 21, 2009 Super User Posted December 21, 2009 foiling looks like a pain in the ***... Quote
bnwcrankin Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Talk about kicking it up a notch! Excellent job on that foil marty.. You'll have to give me some pointer's sometime... Quote
whittler Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Marty if your just playing with foil now, can't wait till you start getting serious. Great baits. Quote
BIG M Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 Thanks guys, I have foiled baits in the past but was never happy with the results. Thanks to my buddy Rob Cochran, I'm happy with these results. Still room for improvement as you will see in the next batch. Foiling baits is not that hard but very time consuming as it adds several more steps to the build. You do have to watch your ballast weight because the foil and extra coats of clear will add some weight to the bait. Quote
Steven Ladner Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 The foiling looks good Big M. I hope you post more up like these Quote
BIG M Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 I used standard kitchen foil and all started out silver in color. On the two baits where the foil looks kind of gold, I shot createx flo yellow over the foil. Quote
BobP Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Those look nice Marty. Kitchen foil? Better you than me! I use Venture BriteBak adhesive foil to delay going bonkers. Quote
Fishwhittler Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Those look great! The first and third baits are especially nice. 8-) Quote
bmadd Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Marty, those baits are sweet! I really like #'s 2 and 4 Quote
Mike Kay Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Holy Schnyckies (sp?) - those are incredible. New guy here that is infatuated with flat balsa baits (Dee, Wee, Lazer). Do you sell your goods? Quote
