Temp. Dropped into the 50's here for the last couple of days along with wind and rain. Tomorrow looks like a break in the weather it will still be cloudy and windy but much less with no rain. What should I throw? It was in the 80's Monday and Tuesday of this week. I'm perplexed but am hitting the water tomorrow. Any suggestions would be great.

If It were me I would throw a jig and fish It SLOW. When you think you're slow enough, slow down a little more. :)

I would think you are going to encounter poor visibility water. Loud baits fished slow.

Bassguy, I am in Richmond Va and we have been having exactly what you are describing, I have been having success with a swimming jig with Rage Tail Chunk trailer.

Up to the cold front jetkbaits were killing it but since the cold front and rains starting last week the jig moderately retrieved have worked. Cranks and jerks died off.

As you've already been told no matter what you throw, do it slow.

I'd start out with maybe a suspending jerk bait, a short compact plastic of your choice dragged slow along the bottom, dead sticking every few feet.

If it was me , fishing my waters in October after a cold front , I'd expect to catch bass on crankbaits.

A jerkbait would be good but chances are the water will be off colored too much for it to be effective. Jigs fished in cover, look for stumps or weed beds close to a drop off, shaky heads and drop shot will be effective if you find concentrations of fish. Slow roll a spinnerbait near sharp breaks that allow fish to change depth quickly, these will be places the will now gravitate too as the season changes.

Hurricane off shore isn't a cold front it's a major storm, use caution this weather system will be around your area all week.
