BigBites1 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 How do you guys travel to your fishing spot and being your Plano 3700's with. I've been using a backpack but have looked into the Plano trunks just not sure it they Will fit well In there. Also the trunk would in theory work well to leave in my truck bed and also bring back to the garage easy. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted October 3, 2015 Super User Posted October 3, 2015 I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly...but I use the Cabela's bag shown at this link to carry plano boxes. BPS has a similar bag as well... Cabela's Quick Stow Convertible Bag 1 Quote
BigBites1 Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 I want to be able to bring the 3700 boxes with me in one storage bin and then be able to grab what I want then put them All back and store them in the garage. 1 Quote

It may be what I go get this weekend if I can't come up with something else Quote
BigBites1 Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Wouldn't a tackle bag just do this? A tackle bag would work but I want something a little more weather tight Quote
Super User Scott F Posted October 5, 2015 Super User Posted October 5, 2015 I use a lot of Plano 3700 boxes but I don't take any of them fishing with me. I use them to store my baits at home and use the 3600 size and smaller boxes when I fish. I choose the baits I intend to use for the day from the larger boxes, and put them in smaller boxes that I take with me. Quote

jitterbug127 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I have tried the bring what I think I would use approach but 2 things occur. Lots of my fishing is impromptu and I like having my gear in the car, second I'll regret not bringing something Quote

I use them to store my baits at home and use the 3600 size and smaller boxes when I fish. I choose the baits I intend to use for the day from the larger boxes, and put them in smaller boxes that I take with me. That's exactly what I do. I have tried the bring what I think I would use approach but 2 things occur. Lots of my fishing is impromptu and I like having my gear in the car, second I'll regret not bringing something I do regret leaving something at home occasionally, but I have come to the realization that I don't actually need all that many different lures no matter where I go, and I wouldn't use them all even if I brought them. Two or three essentials, a few alternates or wildcards, and a couple new things to try out. Plus terminal tackle. That will fill two 3600s. I then swap things in and out at home, as needed, depending on where I'm likely to be and what time of year it is. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted October 5, 2015 Super User Posted October 5, 2015 Buy a boat, then you can bring everything Quote
Scarborough817 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 a tackle bag isn't a bad idea but i find a back pack so much more comfortable while bank fishing if i'm in a boat i bring my whole bag with me Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 5, 2015 Super User Posted October 5, 2015 Take a look at Shinamo Blackmoon back pack. Tom Quote
Evan K Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Thanks for the ideas. I've reached that turnover point where I now have more tackle than I can comfortably carry and how to store and select and carry it has become a new thing for me to figure out. I'll probably keep storing everything in 3600 size boxes and filling maybe 4 of them for each outing. Quote
