im still waiting on the bolt for this one and I still need to decide on optics for it but it's getting close and I wanted to show it off.

The other one is chambered in 5.45 (super fun).

Looks good!  Gonna put a forward grip on that .308?

And aren't those cartridges on the wrong side?

Nope, I've still got one on my 300 but I've thought about removing it.

Not for me, lol

Definitely sick looking. I have some stuff in the works but I can't ever show it off while the nyUNsafe act is still in effect.

Kansas is fairly lax on the laws. I like the fact we get Hi/cap mags but unfortunately they don't even require a CCL anymore.

I guess we'll take the good with the bad.

Both are very nice looking guns.  Just built a couple myself and have already sold them to family. They seem to think that this is a hard hobby to understand, but in reality it is just an expensive hobby unless you come across a good deal.  308 will be my next build, hopefully by Christmas.

Post an update when you get it completely done and shoot it!

I'm trying to decide on a scope now. I'm between a Leupold and a Nikon.

Anyone have an opinion? I'm leaning towards the Nikon due to magnification.

They both seem to get great reviews.  That is a tough call.  I would probably shoot for the Nikon because of the magnification and the lower price.  Good choice though.

I have that exact Leupold on one AR.  It is a fine scope with good glass etc.  I am sure you have read all of the reviews.  I know nothing on that exact Nikon, but they are nice as well.  If it depends on the magnification, go Nikon.  But there is absolutely nothing wrong with that L.

Oh yea, if you get the Leupold, get the flip-up covers.  They are very handy!

On all my scoped rifles I use the BDC option on all my scopes. It's bullet drop compisation. From 100 yards to 500yds I can dope the scope. They come in different brands of scopes. I have the better older Bushnell scopes with this option. My m14 is getting the Bushnell banner scope with this option. Then all you need is a range finder. On a bet I hit a dime at 170yds with my 338wm. Rem. 700.

I rarely shoot past 200 and normally 100, I guess I need to set up a longer range.

I haven't shot anything bigger than my 300 Blackout lately so when I resized 4-500, 308 cases tonight it all but gave me a blister on my hand from pulling on the Rockchucker.

Nice weapons.. Great choice on the Nikon too, my choice would be Swarovski optics.. The brightest scopes I've ever owned. Depending on your use, they are worth every penny..

Sweet rifles!

Just looking through the Nikon I like it. The rifle should shoot pretty good, it's got a Balistic Advantage barrel (they both do) and I'm going to put a 3.5# trigger in it. But it will never shoot like a benchrest rifle so I only wanted to spend around $300 for the scope and rings so that definitely rules out a Swarovski.

I do have a Loupold 24x on a bolt action 308 I may put on this rifle just to punch some paper and see how accurate I can get it.

So I got my bolt and trigger and have had a chance to put a few rounds through it.

Ias of now I've ran 45 rounds through the pipe. The rifle works well and has hardly any recoil. I haven't found a load it likes yet though. I tried working up a load with 168gr match kings and H4895 and have had pretty poor luck with it. My best groups were at just under 1-3/4". As long as it takes to clean the barrel I'm pretty sure it's not broken in yet and should continue getting more accurate ( I hope).

I think I'm going to switch to Varget powder and try working up another load. Surely I can get it under 1". I've worked to hard for it to shoot this porely!

Congrats on the sweet build. I was really close to adding an AR-10 to the collection but decided to hold off in favor of the Ruger Precision... assuming the waitlist starts to shrink at some point...

Tell me that's 300 yards & not 100.. I has to work on a 3006 for a good while to find a load. It was a bolt model 70 16" rifle, finally I sent the rifle to Corbon & they found & made a load that was awesome.. Sweet rifle dude!

I wouldn't even try to shoot a group or zero till broken in but with 45 rounds you should be close. What process do you use for break in? It's been a while but I did 1 shot clean 1 shot clean for the first 10 then cleaned after every 3 shots till I got to 20 then ever 5 till it was broken in. Think my 243 took about 30-40 rounds to get it where I liked it.

I got my 204 I traded my 243 for and it doesn't like to come clean at all or really shoot for that mater the guy said it shot good but I can't get it to group for me. But I'm extremely picky when it comes to accuracy of my guns I want Sub MOA regardless I do mostly fox and coyote hunting and fox don't offer much of a target to shoot at once you take all that fur out of the equation. I gotta try some 32gr out of the 204 and see how she likes them he told me it liked factory hornady 40gr but it shoots them at about 3" groups at 100 and 8" at 200.
