Skeeter's are nice boats.

I know a guy who has one and he loves it.

BassCat! I looked at a Skeeter and wasn't impressed. My buddy has a Triton that is nice. Chine walk is a little scary though.

Chine walk supposedly a thing of the past if your buying a new Triton. At least that's what I heard. I have never been in a Skeeter but I do like Tritons.  I think Skeeter is one of the best looking boats on the water. If it were me however I would be looking at a Charger.

Good luck getting a boat.

Thanks guys yea when i have talked to other people about the chime walking it was with the boats that run higher speeds im planning on have a 150 on the back so not to sure if it will ride fast enough to chime lol my dad had a hydro stream so i understand how to ride it out.

My personal opinion is I like tritons platform better but I've heard great things about skeeter. Rode in one and it was nice. What outboards are on them?

The triton normally has mercs im gonna get 4 stroke for sure skeeter normally has yamaha but triton can have whatever u want on them

That's what I thought I just wasn't sure if you could change the outboard if you bought a boat new. I really liked the Yamaha 4 strokes. My dad had one and it was awesome. It seems like Yamaha is reliable in anything they do. That being said if I were getting a used boat it'd have the Yamaha on it but if you get new the merc should be a good motor.

A properly set jackplate on a triton gets rid of most of the chine, the rest is negligible and that's even past 70mph

I find Triton's to be a "wet" ride!

There are far more Skeeters around here & I see no issues of blowing pistons or popping injectors!

What I do see is Merc Opti spending more time in the shop than on the water.

Skeeters always have Yammies on the back unless they have been repowered. Yamaha owns Skeeter.

Any motor will give you years of reliability providing they are maintained and driven properly. Opti's don't like cold takeoffs and hot shutdowns. As long as the temp is around 120* while performing either of these actions, the motor will last. I don't know much about Yammie's The only motor I've ever known to catch fire was a VMax. If you're going to do a lot of idling, a 4 stroke will probably be a better choice.

True. I met a guy who said he had a Johnson on the back of his skeeter from the factory, he also said he knew kvd personally lol

Yea im gonna go with mercury 4stroke they gonna give me a 5yr warr without paying more for warr plus i have heard great things bout there 4 strokes

If I was to buy a Bass Boat again I would consider all of them. "At this time" Skeeter would be high on my list but I'd have to take a hard look at the Bass Cat..

I'm looking into the tzx 190 myself..skeeters only come with yamaha..I did a demo last year on the Delaware during the bass elite series..the guy said it would be sacraligious..like putting a Ford or chevy small block into a Mopar car..I was told ranger over skeeter but I got my eyes on the skeeter..they handle ridiculously well

Yea i know skeeter rides like a dream just like the deck and deminsions on triton but if its a rough ride i dont want that or. Wet ass from triton i probably ride in triton before i pull the trigger...ranger is out of league way to expensive

I don't know where you heard that but tritons aren't wet rides..

I didn't look into triton cause ik the big ones are way to expensive..I'm going with the tzx 190 with a 175 vmax cause the deer was telling me that for 2016, the 190 is going up $10k and coming g loaded to compete with ranger z118c, which is loaded and in that 18ft class..however, I like the layout of ranger better

I have a TR186 its a dry ride but it hates rough water.

I'd go 2 stroke all day long!!!

Your giving up a bunch putting a 150 4 on a 19' boat.

I would also consider a phoenix. In my area its definitly becoming the hot boat. Rides very well and usually can be found for less than alot of others and packed with features. My boss is selling his triton to make room for his new phoenix 920.

Have you looked at bullets at all? Out of all the bass boats I have ridden in I was the most impressed by the bullet.
