So what about the Jason Christie rods as compared to the straight up Bucoo?

I have one of them too. Also really light just like the bucoo. I have the 6'9" and what makes it shorter is the smaller rear grip. I think it's a better jerkbait rod which is what I use it for. Casting with two hands bothers my bottom hand on a hard cast. Totally different specs than my bucoo but I got it for $20 so I can't complain.

I don't like a short handle either. I"m totally uncomfortable with a shorty. 10" -12" works best for me.

I have 7 of them myself.  2 of the 7'MH, 2 of the 7'M, 1 6'6"MH, 1  7'3"H, and a 7' in spinning.  All micro, all great.  Never had any real problems with the guides, the 7'M is a great crankbait rod.  My buddies call it the buggy whip, just because it loads up and doubles, but for cranks it's great and light.  The 7'MH as mentioned is a great trap rod or spinner/chatterbait, swimjig.  I use the 7'3" as my frog rod and can pitch with it if needed.  Just a great line of rods for a great price.

The rod is a great value. Think about it.. It really is quite a deal. USA Blank and hands on with good components and a good warranty. How can anybody go wrong buying one or two or more... In fact I think the Falcon line as a whole is something we should all consider.

I need a good all around rod and I'm torn between the Bucoo and Low Rider 20. They're so close...

Then I'd say go with the 7'MH Bucoo.  I've fished just about everything on it and it performs great and it's Moderate Fast action lets you pretty much fish any way you would like.  I've fished, jigs, worms, frogs, cranks, topwater, swimbaits (4" versions), and blade/spinnerbait/buzzbaits on this rod.  It lends intself to be a great all around rod.

Sounds good but I'm looking for a 6'6'-6'8" rod with a 10" handle.

The 6'6" MH isn't bad either.  I use it to fish tight spots with 1/4-3/8oz jigs and plastics.

i got one on Academy for $30 a couple years ago, it was marked at $130.... its a 7' M. it just sat there in the rod holder for about a year, as i had another rod i used for cranks... once i lend my crank rod to my dad and picked up the Bucoo.... that was the last time the other crank rod saw the water.... i also have a Falcon Cara for worms, those are the rods i use the most...

Lol thats funny because i got my first bucoo as a gift. 7ft cranker spin, never used it until i broke my cranking rod. Been using it ever since.

The "trap caster" is one heck of a rod. Its light sensitive and obviously excels with lipless baits. My only issue with the bucoo's are the micro guides are way too fragile. I don't beat my gear, but the slightest bump from another rod and I need a new guide. It is 4 years old though.

I have the same problem with my trap caster micro guide rod. Great blank but absolutely hate the fragile guides. The tip guide has given me a lot of abrasion issues too.

The Falcon Original line of rods is the best 100$ value of all time.  Get the "Herm" and thank me later.  However, I do own several Bucoo rods.  They are good rods. I especially like the 7' Heavy rod for frogs and heavy top water stick baits.

Does anybody know if there were changes in the rods for 2016 other than the additional models added to each line?

I believe it's either under 10" or right at.  I think it's 14" from the fwd part of the handle where it meets the blank.  I don't like long butt sections at all.  So the Bucoo's work great for me.  Hope that helps.
