I got a new crankbait a few days ago. Turns out it's pretty effective.

Yeah... I talked to everyone i know and no one says they've ever heard of that happening. I've seen people catch two fish at once while surf fishing with multiple hooks. But I never thought it would be possible with a fish as aggressive and quick as bass and a single lure. So has anyone ever heard of this?

I have only had it happen to me one time but i have seen another person in my boat do it twice before.  Unfortunately the fish were small.

With bass about 8 times. Once caught a snook and a ladyfish at the same time.

With schooloing fish it is not uncommon.

Seen it happen. 90 percent of my fish are caught on single hook presentations. That's my problem. I'll I'll have 6 rods on the deck. All different variations of worms and jigs. Unless I'm throwing a big swimbait. Those days can be a grind

Never done it myself, but have witnessed it a number of times. Actually, folks around here post pretty frequently about it happening, with pics.

Yeah, it's pretty common really. I've had it happen dozens of times, oddly enough never on an A rig though.

Wow I would love to see your camera. Everytime you post pictures I'm amazed. I've almost had it happen but one jumped off.

In July this year I hooked two 18-19" smallmouth on a crankbait. Felt strange hauling in something that heavy and fighting so awkwardly. One broke free next to the boat so I only landed one.

Sometimes I'll see them chase a hooked fish right up to the boat. The double catches I think probably aren't from the 2 fish hitting a lure simultaneously, but more often one gets hooked and then the other tries to steal from its mouth. Aggressive little bastids.

I never have and I've thrown multiple treble baits millions of times lol I have spots in FL that if it ever happens it's going to be atleast 8lbs on the lure, but I fish em all the time and it hasn't yet

I've only done it once: two rock bass on an F5 Rapala.

I've done it several times with both largemouth and white bass. A pair of chunky white bass hooked up on an ultralight spinning rig can get pretty interesting.

Have caught 2 bass on one lure several times before, especially when they are schooling. Have caught 3 bass at the same time on one lure a couple times.

I'm going to tell my wife I'm not fishng enough because this has never happened to me. I have caught a perch and then a striper ate the perch and I landed it. Also have reeled in a lot of half eaten fish in the salt from sharks.

Twice that I can remember. Once on a spook, two 1lbers, and then once on a jerkbait, one was a 2.5lber, the other was a 1.5lber, I thought I had something for a minute LOL. I had two smallmouth grab a jerkbait  at the same time once, got them all the way to the boat, and they both got off. And in a really bad kick in the groin, I was once bumped out of a tournament win to 2nd place, by a guy who had three 12" fish all day, who caught a 4lber, and 5lber on the same crankbait at the same time, on his last cast. It was a tough day, I had 13lbs and was culling ounces at a time all day..., he beat me by .25lbs.....and like I said, he had three small keepers in the boat with 5 minutes left to go.

How many of you have caught half a fish? My dad and I did. It bit my worm and I gave it a second to take the bait. By the time I set my hook my dad had one too. We reeled them up to discover it was the same fish. The only time I've ever caught half a fish.

I have done it a bunch of times when I was throwing rapala stick baits and devil horses. I throw mostly plastics now and so it hasn't happened in a while. I did catch a small bass on a zoom fluke and a big bass tried to eat the small one. I pulled the two bass to the boat and the big one finally let go when I lifted the head up, it was never hooked.
