I know there have been posts about the duckett ghost before. I am curious how this would be paired with a Revo MGX reel. I know thats a bit of a mix match but after spending 350 bucks on a reel, I don't feel like spending a ton on a rod too.

I can definitely afford a better rod if neccesary but I currently have a Shimano sellus paired with the revo MGX, so how much better would the ghost be than a MH 6'10 fast shimano sellus?

The ghost isn't great looking, but I compared it to the Veritas or whatever it's called and it was sooo much lighter.

I plan to get the 7'3" duckett ghosty in heavy action for jigs and plastics.

Thoughts??

Thanks guys!

Any experience with a Micro Magic? I am also considering that one...there are just so many to choose from....

Yes I have one and like it as well. If u are gonna use just straight braid or Floro or mono u will be fine. But if u want to use a leader then it want work

The guides are really small if u have bad eyes u might get frustrated with it. When I first ran line through I missed an eye. Didn't notice till after a few cast from the bank

And I agree there is a lot too choose from. I would take your reel to bass pro and try several different rods to find something you like.

Is that the same with the ghost? I almost always use a flouro leader. Are the guides that small that you cant tie on a leader with a double uni?

I will keep that in mind. It might take me a few weeks to decide though.

Ghost have smallish guides but nowhere near as small as micromagic. Youll be fine with leders even with rough knots. That would be a good setup, you can't get much lighter a combo...

Check out the macro magic on eBay from Simmons before you buy the Ghost. Same price and you won't have to deal with the limitations of micro guides. It's a nicer rod over all for the same price while they last.

I've got 4 micros and 2 ghosts and they are good rods. I'm surprised that people don't seem to comment on them much here. In my opinion they are better rods than the veritas at least the first version. I sold all the veritas rods I had and haven't tried the new ones. The warranty on the micros is pretty good. I broke one of the cranking rods and basically just paid shipping for a new one.

Forgot about the terex it's good also. I use braid on it for my frog rod. I haven't fished frogs much this year so I forgot about it. It replaced my diawa lt frog rod it's much lighter to me

Pretty much. They do have regular guides so braid to flouro wouldn't be the issue it is with the micro magics. The rods are just as comfortable to fish with. I do wish the tip was a little more forgiving for casting accuracy. It's not a broom stick but it is pretty stiff.

I feel like the tip is stiffer on my terex than my micro, but my micro I'm comparing it to is 7`6" the terex is shorter. I don't remember the exact length mind has blanked but it's 7` something. It's probably in my head but the last time I used it I was wishing for a little more of a forgiving tip like what's on my 7`6" micro I use for pitching. The terex would probably make a decent jig/ worm rod also but I bought it for frogs. It's alot stiffer to me than what I would classify as a fast tip. Hope this is clearer to you reading it than to me trying to explain what I'm trying to say

I like some tip for toads and frogs. I have no idea how the Rojas rods are tapered. Odds are I'll never see one unless I go to a trade show.
