Heron Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Heres something nifty you can do with a Yum Craw bug. Turn it into a line-thru craw. Just insert a bullet weight, glue it, and use a two prong hook. 2 Quote
georgeyew Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 That is pretty cool. Looks like it would work well. Quote
Fisher-O-men Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I like it! I'm going to pre-rig some of those with a swivel on the end! Quote
FinCulture Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 hmm... great idea. I'll have to try it! Quote
Heron Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 what size hook is that? I have no idea...yet. I took it off of a 2/5oz Daredevle. Quote
monkeyman3dee Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 What is the advantage rigging this way? Quote
Bass newb Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Guys, that is weedless like a frog and better profiled than typical Texas rig. It's more realistic all the way around and has 2 hooks. What's not to like? Quote
Bass newb Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Perhaps the lack of a weight banging onto rocks would be a detriment, but I like the hook scheme. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted September 22, 2015 Super User Posted September 22, 2015 Perhaps the lack of a weight banging onto rocks would be a detriment, but I like the hook scheme. put in a jig rattle and that would solve the noise issue. I like the rig and already have a few scenarios i'm going to try it in. Quote
monkeyman3dee Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I wonder if this would replicate the notorious bad hook up ratio of frogs if applied to crawbugs. Neat idea though. -Joshua Quote

Heron Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 I forgot to mention that I trimmed off that tail nub thats underneath, so as to make the underside flat. Quote
Heron Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Note: I would also recommend trying to skin the hook points in some way. At this point, nothing else secures the hook to he bait except tension on the line. A slack line may allow the hook to dislodge itself. gotta work on that. Quote
Mr_Poche' Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 This has got my imagination going wild. I will be doing some experimenting with the idea myself. Thanks for sharing Quote
chadmack282 Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Why? why not? different can really produce sometime. Quote
